Chapter 732:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“What happened to you, Mrs. Madi?” she asked, eyes wide with surprise. I could guess she meant the state of my makeup and hair, especially the mascara no doubt smudged under my eyes.
“It’s just makeup, silly.” I laughed and swung the door open wide.
“Ahh,” she said, nodding in understanding. “Um—Mrs. Madi, Mr. Gabriel asked me to tell you he’s waiting for you in the kitchen.”
I furrowed my brows, walking back to sit on the edge of the bed. “Why?”
“For breakfast. He made breakfast for the two of you,” she explained, smiling.
“He made breakfast?” I asked, barely believing it. In that instant, every trace of sleep vanished from my body.
“Yes, he did,” Elsa said, her voice bubbling with excitement, a broad smile spreading across her face.
“Okay. Just tell him to wait for me—forever.”
“What?”
“I’m only joking.” I smiled at her and got up. “Tell him I’ll be down in a minute. Thank you, Elsa.”

“You’re welcome, Miss Madi,” she said, before slipping out of the room.
A smile found its way onto my lips. Come on, Madi. He just made breakfast. What’s so special about that? I stood in front of the mirror. And why am I smiling like this? And yet, my heart insisted on feeling this ridiculous flutter of excitement, just from knowing he’d made breakfast. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair, since I don’t usually bother showering this early.
I hurried downstairs, heading straight for the kitchen, where I found him typing away on his laptop, phone resting beside it. He stood up the moment he saw me walk in.
“Good morning! Did you sleep well?” he asked with a smile, leaning in to kiss my forehead.
I made a real effort not to raise my eyebrows in surprise at his behavior. Was he really going to pretend nothing had happened last night?
“Good morning,” I said, smiling despite myself. Ever since I’d realized I loved him, my heart and my reason had been locked in constant battle, and I could never quite tell which one to follow. This morning, my heart was practically singing just because he’d made breakfast, while my reason urged caution. And, as always, my foolish heart won.
“I made breakfast for you. There are scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes. I made orange juice too. What do you want?” He pulled out a chair for me, and I couldn’t help but smile. It was the first time we’d ever had breakfast together.
“Did you make all this yourself?”
“I did—with a little help from Lea,” he said, giving an awkward smile and scratching the back of his neck as he sat down beside me.
“Hmm… looks good,” I said, nodding, reaching for the pancakes before he stopped me.
“Let me serve you.” He gently took the fork from my hand and set three pancakes on my plate. I gave him a smile and said nothing. Enjoy this moment.
“Madi,” he said, after a moment of silence.
“Hmm?” I looked up after my fourth bite of pancake.
