“And if I don’t?” asked Yayoi.

Edith scoffed, “Then the Shen Family won’t let things go like this.”

Fighting the Shen was a kind of suicide. The ones hurt would be herself and her parents.

Why was she bothering to dig her own grave?

Yayoi took a deep breath and said, “I will not leave the child in the hands of the Shen Family. I will raise him by myself.”

“Miss Song, do you think you can give the child a comfortable life?”

Edith snorted, crossing her arms around her chest.

“No, but I am the child’s mother. Children need their mothers.”

“Don’t worry, Wendy will become the child’s mother. She will treat the child as her own.”

“The Shen blood?” Yayoi scoffed, “No, he’s a child of the Song Family, not the Shen Family.”

Edith glared at the unexpectedly stubborn girl.

“Exactly, he is the son of the Song Family. Your Shen Family shouldn’t even think about taking him.”

Suddenly, a voice interrupted them.

Edith and Yayoi turned around, they saw Juliet and Sara entering one after another.

Sara gently grasped Yayoi’s hand, giving her a comforting smile, “Don’t worry, Yayoi. We’re here now.”

“Bullshit! You know she would choose to break up with Maddox. That’s why you said those words. Don’t play innocent. It’s so disgusting.”

Juliet looked at her angrily, then turned to Yayoi and said, “Yayoi, don’t listen to her. You and Maddox already have a child. Even if I were to give up everything in the Shen Family for you, it would be the right thing to do. Don’t forget that Mr. Leo is by your side. You’ll be fine.”

Hearing her mention Leo, Edith’s eyes sparkled and she looked at them meaningfully.

Juliet feared that Yayoi would do as Shen said.

She winked at Sara and said, “Sara, you and Leo won’t let them suffer any aggravation, will you?”

Sara smiled and said softly, “Of course. Leo will help Maddox. Besides, you know Maddox is a powerful man – don’t you believe him?”

Edith frowned; her inquisitive gaze settled on Sara.

How could she call cousin Leo by name?

What was her relationship to Leo?

Yayoi’s chaotic thoughts subsided at last.

She smiled bitterly, “Sara, I trust Maddox. But I didn’t want him to suffer for me.”

“But is it fair to him for you to break up with him? He’s fighting the Shen Family for you. His grandfather was so furious and even hospitalized because he insisted on marrying you. Is it okay for you to break his heart?”
