Chapter 506:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Leo didn’t expect it would be so hard to clear Mr. Elton.
He had pulled a lot of strings, but those people didn’t want to get involved in this.
After being turned down by several people, Leo got a little impatient.
He used to think that Benin City was not within his father’s sphere of influence, but now it seemed he was wrong.
It was obvious that this time, his father would not give up until he achieved his goal.
Sara entered the study with a cup of milk in her hand. Seeing Leo frowning, she pursed her lips and approached quietly.
She set the cup on the table and looked at him with concern.
She asked him shyly, “Leo, is something wrong?”
Leo looked at her and smiled slightly, saying, “Nothing.”
Then he asked, “Why haven’t you slept yet?”.
Sara sighed helplessly and said, “There’s a lot going on lately. I can’t sleep well.”
Knowing she was worried about her two good friends, Leo didn’t want to burden her, so he didn’t say anything.
He got up, picked up the cup, walked over to her and, looking at her gently, said, “Go back to bed, I’ll be with you.” Sara smiled and nodded.
They left the studio. The large study was instantly silent.

…
When she received Griselda’s call, Sara was a little surprised.
She thought that Griselda would not talk to her again after their unpleasant encounter last time.
Griselda wanted to meet with her, like last time.
Sara turned her down directly, saying, “Miss Fiona, if you still want to persuade me like last time, I don’t think we need to meet.”
After a moment’s silence, Griselda said calmly, “Don’t you want to know more about the Elton Family case this time?”
Sara narrowed her eyes and tightened her grip on the phone.
Still, she went to meet Griselda.
“Miss Fiona, if you have something to tell me, please be honest. There’s no need to waste our time.”
Seeing Griselda, Sara said this directly.
Griselda put down the cup of coffee she was holding and looked at her. She smiled and said, “Ms. Tang, how impatient you are!”.
Sara replied with a smile, “I’m not impatient. I just don’t want to waste time.”
Griselda raised her eyebrows and stared at her for a long moment, then said, “I think you know who was behind the Elton Family case.”
Sara frowned slightly. Then she pretended to be surprised and asked, “What do you mean, is there someone deliberately manipulating Mr. Elton’s corruption case?”
“Miss Tang, I know you already knew.” Griselda looked at her with mockery in her eyes.
Sara curved her lips and said, “Yes, I know, so what?”
She grimaced and looked at Griselda coldly, saying, “You didn’t come here just to embarrass me?”
Griselda raised her eyebrows and laughed out loud, saying, “Of course not. I’m not that boring.”
“Really?” Sara folded her arms and leaned back in her chair. She smiled coldly and said, “Then I’ll listen to you carefully. Please tell me why you come to Benin.”
Griselda smiled faintly, picked up her cup and took a sip.
She turned to stare silently at the bustling streets outside the French window.
Sara did not press her. Instead, she showed great patience.
After a long while, Griselda slowly turned her head and set the cup down on the table. She looked at Sara and said, “Miss Tang, I think you’ve seen Leo’s father’s determination. Do you think Leo can stand up to him alone?”
“I believe in him.”
What a pithy answer!
But it was also a naive answer.
Griselda laughed and said, “Miss Tang, don’t you know that Leo hasn’t made any progress in the past two days?”
Sara frowned and looked at her coldly without a word. Griselda said, “You guys are still too young to defeat Leo’s father.”
“This is Benin City, not the Capital,” Sara said coldly.
Griselda laughed at her words and looked at her, saying, “Miss Tang, do you really believe that Benin City is not within his sphere of influence?”
Sara’s nervous expression had already told her that they did indeed believe so.
Griselda felt it necessary to tell her the current situation. Otherwise, she would not know what it was for them.
So, she said, “The Lu Family is not only powerful in the capital. Otherwise, why would this happen to Mr. Elton? Moreover, Leo had contacted many people, but those people did not dare to help Leo. It was all because they were afraid of the Lu Family and didn’t dare to get into this.”
Leo didn’t tell her. Because of that, she was doubtful and didn’t believe it much.
She knew Leo’s abilities and believed there was nothing he couldn’t do.
Seeing that she didn’t believe her, Griselda said, “Miss Tang, Leo is not as powerful as you think. Compared to the Lu Family, he is too weak and unable to withstand a single blow.”
Sara said coldly, “You’re not here just to tell me that, are you?”
“Of course not,” Griselda smiled and said, “I just want to tell you that what I offered you before is still valid. If you’re willing to let Leo waive the Lu Family’s right of inheritance, I can convince his father to let you go free, as well as Payton and the Elton Family.”
Sara smiled faintly with a mocking expression and said, “So you mean I should thank you?”
“I know you’re not willing to accept the offer now, but I’m sure you will.” Griselda sounded very confident.
“Really?” Sara raised her eyebrows and said, “Then I’m telling you now that I have no right to interfere in Leo’s decisions. Therefore, I will never agree to it.”
She stood up and said, “If that’s all, I’m leaving.”
With that, he turned around and was about to leave.
“Miss Tang.”
Griselda stood up as well.
Sara didn’t stop.
Instead, she headed for the door.
Griselda watched her go, and her eyes gradually turned somber.
How stubborn she was!
It seemed that Griselda had to think of something else.
She sat back in her chair and took a sip of coffee. Her eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a trace of cruelty.
No matter what price she had to pay, she would make sure that everything in the Lu Family belonged to Charles and Charlie.
