Chapter 510:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“I like to celebrate my birthday according to the lunar calendar,” Payton said without any emotion.
It was an explanation of sorts.
Then, she turned around and walked into the room.
Tracy followed him.
“What would you like to drink?” Payton turned to look at her.
Tracy smiled brightly, “Anything goes.”
Payton arched her eyebrows and turned back toward the kitchen. In the living room, Tracy was still looking around.
Soon enough, Payton came out with two bottles of booze.

She handed one to Tracy and sat down across from her.
Payton opened the bottle and took a sip. Then, she looked at Tracy and asked, “Tracy, have you been free lately?”
Tracy was stunned. “Yeah, what’s up?”
Payton looked at her calmly. “I have a favor to ask you.”
…
Juliet wondered if it was wishful thinking on her part that Payton had been acting strangely these past two days.
After her father’s accident, if he wasn’t going to work, he was spending time with her and her mother. These two days, however, he didn’t even come to the Elton house.
She called him, but he was so distant as if he hated her very much.
Could it be that he had a problem with her?
The thought filled Juliet with a vague uneasiness.
She felt she should ask him, because she didn’t want to be treated like this for no reason.
So she went straight to her company, but she didn’t expect to see a woman who shouldn’t be in her office.
It was Tracy.
Before she opened the door, she could hear a faint chuckle, but when she opened it, it abruptly stopped.
Seeing Juliet, Tracy jumped up from the couch and shouted in fright, “Juliet!”
Juliet looked at her coldly and then turned her eyes back to Payton. Payton, however, looked rested, unchanged in color.
Juliet had an intuition that something was wrong, but she forced herself to abandon that thought.
“Payton, why haven’t you come to my house these past two days?” asked Juliet.
“I don’t want to go.”
The simple answer made Juliet’s heart tremble.
She bit her lips and swept her gaze over Tracy.
Then she asked with a smirk, “Is it because of her?”
Payton stared at Juliet, neither admitting nor denying it.
He was too calm, which made his uneasiness steadily increase.
She took a deep breath and tried to make sense of it. After a while, she asked, “Payton, what exactly do you mean?”
However, he continued to stare at her without saying anything.
At that point, Tracy sheepishly said, “Juliet, stop asking him. He just…doesn’t know how to tell you.”
“Who the hell are you?” Juliet glared at her.
Tracy’s breath caught. Then she bit her lips and murmured apologetically, “Juliet, I know you’re angry, but I think I need to tell you the truth.”
The truth?
Juliet frowned as her instinct seemed to hit the nail on the head.
Payton was still silent as Tracy looked at him affectionately. Then, suddenly, he leaned over to Juliet and said, “I’m sorry, Juliet.”
Juliet’s face darkened and her eyes became ice cold.
Tracy continued, “Juliet, Payton and i…. Payton…”
She hesitated and her beautiful cheeks reddened.
Seeing that, Juliet felt quite uncomfortable.
Juliet scoffed, “Don’t tell me he cheated on me.”
Tracy looked at her and then lowered her head in embarrassment.
Juliet slowly opened her eyes wide and looked at her in disbelief. Suddenly, she felt her throat go so dry that she couldn’t say anything.
A stony silence descended upon them.
Staring at Juliet, Payton clenched her fist. There was sadness in her eyes, but Juliet didn’t notice.
Noticing her so shocked, her heart broke.
‘I’m sorry, Juliet.’
He could only say it to himself.
After a long time, Juliet was finally able to speak.
She asked stiffly, “Payton, is it true what Tracy said?”
“I’m sorry.”
He didn’t answer her question directly, but it was enough.
Juliet suddenly laughed as she looked at the man who had said he loved her.
But now it was getting so strange.
“You bastard!”
She could no longer suppress her anger and sadness. She rushed forward and raised her hand to slap him.
Payton did not dodge at all.
Covering her mouth to keep from exclaiming, Tracy looked at them blankly.
“Let’s break up.”
Without hesitation, Juliet turned and strided away.
After watching her go, Tracy turned to look at Payton.
Noticing that her face had turned red from the slap, she immediately reached over and reached out to touch him, but he cocked his head to the side and dodged her hand.
Tracy stopped in embarrassment and looked very hurt.
She pursed her lips and asked worriedly, “Payton, are you okay?”
Payton shook her head. “I’m fine.”
That physical hurt didn’t compare to the emotional damage he’d done to Juliet. He wished she’d hit him a few more times to make himself feel better.
Tracy thought to herself, “Payton, do you really think it’s the right thing to do?”
That day, he had asked for her help, but she never expected to help him that way.
She didn’t know why she was doing it, but she knew she loved Juliet.
It hurt her to do it, and it hurt Juliet too.
They loved each other so much that Tracy didn’t understand why they had to end up like this.
Payton put a hand to her sore cheeks and her lips curved into a wry smile.
“Whether it’s good or not, we’ve already done it. It’s too late.”
“Payton, this is fixable. I can tell Juliet it’s not true. Then nothing will change.”
“No need,” Payton replied as she looked at Tracy. “Just do what I tell you to do. Don’t worry about anything else.”
Although she liked Payton, Tracy didn’t want to see him do anything against his will and suffer.
Her greatest desire was to make the person she loved happy.
Tracy sighed, “Payton, I hope you don’t regret it.”
Regret?
Payton curved his lips as if he despised himself. Of course he regretted it, but he had to.
