Chapter 511:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Juliet cried and ran out of the company. Everyone who knew her was shocked and confused.
But soon they went back to Sara.
Juliet cried?
Sara frowned. She thought it was because of Payton.
But Juliet avoided her calls several times.
She realized something was wrong and hurried upstairs to ask Payton what was wrong.
When the elevator reached the floor where the CEO’s office was located, the door opened and she saw a woman waiting for the elevator.
Her eyebrows furrowed slightly. Then she slowly stepped out of the elevator, her eyes fixed on the woman.
The woman smiled at Sara and stepped into the elevator.
Then she reached out to press the button. The door slowly closed, blocking Sara’s view.
Sara stood in front of the elevator and stared thoughtfully at the closed door.
Payton stepped out of the office and saw Sara.
She frowned and walked over.

“Sara, what are you doing?” asked Payton.
Hearing him, Sara turned her head and asked dryly, “Who was that woman?”
Stunned for a moment, Payton realized why she was asking that, so she smiled, “A friend.”
A friend?
Sara raised her eyebrows slightly and asked, “Did Juliet just come in?”
“Yes.”
“Did she see that woman too?”
“Yes.”
Sara narrowed her eyes and gave him a piercing look. “Payton, is there something going on between you two?”
Payton was silent.
Sara suddenly opened her eyes and exclaimed, “Payton, don’t scare me like that!”
Payton smiled and apologized, “Sara, I’m sorry I disappointed you.” His apology made her despair. She was speechless.
The Payton she knew was a one-woman man, so she didn’t think he would cheat on Juliet.
“Payton, look me in the eye and tell me if you have anything to do with that woman.”
Payton laughed, “Sara, what for?”
“Cut the crap. Tell me.”
Sara rolled her eyes in disgust.
Her eyes were clear and lively, as if she could see through anyone. Payton was afraid the guilt would run through him.
He smiled, “Sara, there’s no need. I didn’t lie.”
Sara stared at him.
After a long moment, she asked, “Are you back home from the Lu’s?”
Payton nodded, “Yes.”
“Then you know?”
“Yes.”
Sara stared at him for a while and then said, “I’m sorry, Payton. It’s between Leo and me, but you and Juliet have gotten yourselves into a mess.”
Payton smiled, “Sara, you don’t have to apologize. I don’t consider it a bother. This is what I have to suffer through as Lu.”
“So, did you get engaged?” Sara asked tentatively.
Payton smiled and remained silent.
There was bitterness and helplessness in his smile.
Sara understood his position, but could only sigh, “Payton, your engagement won’t change anything, it will only make your father go further and reduce your brother to a more difficult position.”
Sara understood that he was doing it for Juliet, but he was too impulsive.
He wouldn’t even discuss it with her or Leo.
And, of course, her father would be delighted.
Realizing what was happening, Payton panicked.
“Sara, I… I don’t have a choice.”
Sara smiled comfortingly at her.
“I understand your feelings. I don’t blame you.”
He already had.
It was too late even if she criticized him.
She should make it a priority to tell Leo so he would be prepared for what might happen next.
…
Sara couldn’t reach Juliet on her phone, so she went to the Elton house.
When the servants saw Sara, they were excited as if she were a lifeguard.
They said anxiously, “Miss Sara, come up to see Miss Elton. She locked herself in her room as soon as she returned. Miss Elton had tried to persuade her, but she insisted that she would not open it.”
Hearing this, Sara hurriedly ran upstairs.
“Juliet, what exactly happened? Don’t scare me.”
As soon as she arrived, Sara heard Miss Elton knocking on the door. She sounded rather anxious.
“Miss Elton.” She approached.
Mrs. Elton turned her head and said pleasantly, “Sara, there you are.”
Sara nodded, “Miss Elton, let me try.”
Miss Elton knew that Sara was a good friend to Juliet. Even if Juliet was unwilling to tell her, she would tell Sara.
So, Miss Elton stepped aside and Sara approached.
“Juliet!” Sara shouted through the door.
But there was no answer.
She continued, “Juliet, open the door. I know the truth. What Payton said isn’t true. Do you want to hear?”
“What happened to Payton?” Mrs. Elton asked in confusion.
Sara turned around and smiled, “It’s okay. They’re both going through a rough patch.”
That really hit Miss Elton.
She nodded, “I see. No wonder Juliet locked herself in her room as soon as she got back.”
“Then, Miss Elton, I’ll try to persuade her. You can go about your business.”
Miss Elton understood what Sara meant.
She smiled.
“All right, then I’ll let you two talk. I’ll follow.”
Noticing Miss Elton coming downstairs, Sara shouted to Juliet, “Juliet, Payton has her reasons. It has something to do with your father, do you want to hear it?”
The door was open.
Sara smiled as she pushed the door open and stepped inside.
Then the door closed again.
…
Sara told Juliet all about Ebenezer and the Lu’s.
Juliet was stunned for a while before she said, “Is it true?”
“It’s true,” Sara smiled apologetically. “Juliet, I’m so sorry. If it weren’t for me and Leo, Ebenezer wouldn’t have suffered so much, and Payton wouldn’t make a decision like that.”
Noticing that Sara was feeling very guilty, Juliet smiled and shook her head.
“Sara, it’s none of your business. Don’t apologize. It’s not your fault, it’s Payton’s father’s fault. Her father is too cruel.”
Speaking of which, Juliet bristled.
How could a father play dirty to threaten his son?
Her whole worldview had been shaken!
“Then can you forgive Payton?” asked Sara tentatively.
Juliet pulled down the corners of her lips and said, “He’s done nothing wrong-why should I forgive him?”
Sara burst out laughing.
It was great that Juliet and Payton’s relationship was not affected.
