Chapter 2213:

But now, he knew that even if she didn’t choose to stay with him in the end, he wanted to be the best husband and father he could be while they were still together, making her happy whenever possible.
He only wanted to make her smile.
As Luis enjoyed the quiet moment, the sound of a car came from downstairs, followed by footsteps in the stairwell.
The servant walked to the door and whispered, “Mrs. Mendez, your agent is here. She’s waiting for you downstairs and says she has something important to discuss with you.”
Elva glanced at the door as the servant reported.
The servant hesitated to peek inside, though.

After a moment, Elva nodded, “I’ll be right down.”
The servant headed downstairs to pass along the message.
Elva gently touched Samuel and softly said to Luis, “Go downstairs to check.”
Initially, Luis intended to accompany her, but after some thought, he decided against it.
He didn’t want to seem like an immature boy feeling insecure all the time, so he placed the child on the carpet and handed him a toy to play with.
The carpet was surrounded by small fences to ensure he wouldn’t fall off.
He began unpacking the luggage.
In fact, he could have asked the servants to do it.
But considering the master bedroom was a private space for the couple, he preferred to keep it off-limits to the staff if possible.
About ten minutes later, he heard footsteps from the stairwell.
Knowing Elva had returned, he raised his voice and asked, “What did you talk about? Is it something urgent?”
Elva didn’t go to the cloakroom where he was.
She knelt on the carpet and watched Samuel playing.
In a gentle tone, she explained, “I may need to leave early. The set for the shoot was just completed, but for some reason, it needs to be demolished by tomorrow morning, so the scene involving that setting has to happen tonight.”
Luckily, the set was in Duefron.
The scene in question was very important, and the actual filming was expected to last at least five hours.
After sunrise, she would need to travel out of town to another location and continue filming other scenes.
It was exhausting, yet Elva felt no regret.
She wasn’t overly ambitious, but she couldn’t pass up such an opportunity when it presented itself.
She suspected Luis might be somewhat unhappy.
After a short while, he appeared.
He leaned against the small bar counter in the parlor, maintaining his usual proud demeanor but with a gentle expression.
“Are you going now? Let me drive you there then. You’ll be more comfortable resting in the car during breaks.”
