Chapter 2226:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Luis ordered his thoughts.
Instead of answering Hurst right away, he went to the bar in the living room, opened a cabinet, and pulled out a bottle of red wine along with two glasses.
The Mendez family had enjoyed generations of wealth and Luis was well educated.
His movements were smooth and graceful as he prepared the wine.
He opened the bottle of wine and let it breathe.
Luis saw Hurst still standing in the doorway, he asked with a slight smile, “Why don’t you come in. We can’t discuss the script if you don’t come in.”
Hurst was not naïve.
In those brief moments, he noticed an aura about Luis: an aura of nobility, a proud presence that felt out of place in the entertainment industry.
Hurst was still hesitant, however.
Although Luis was rich, he could not be richer than Hurst’s benefactor. This thought reassured him. First he intended to fire and intimidate Luis.
He tried to remain calm and mentioned that person casually, then added, “She’s doing pretty well in business. I wonder if you have any dealings with her. If so, what a coincidence!”.
She wanted to humiliate him.
How could Luis not understand?
He thought for a moment and remembered that there was indeed a female CEO with the same name Hurst mentioned among the Mendez family business partners.
She was probably in her 40s, but he hadn’t considered that she might be the patron of this young actor standing in front of him.
Still, Hurst was truly brazen.
Relying on a sugar mommy and still showing off made it clear that he had no real background.
The wine had breathed enough. Luis poured two glasses of red wine and brought them over to him. He gestured for Hurst to sit down and said, “Come to think of it, I remember. She’s a young and quite capable widow.”
Hurst was pleased.
It seemed that even Elva’s husband had to show some respect to his employer.
Luis leaned over and swirled his glass of red wine before gently turning the conversation over to the film crew.
