Chapter 2258:

Luis nodded briefly and said, “Sure, see you at Duefron.”
Marcus handed him a paper bag and commented, “This is for Elva. Please pass it on for me.”
Luis was surprised by the gesture.
Marcus, noticing his reaction, said lightly, “You can’t give gifts just because it’s not a special occasion? Luis, you excel in business, but you could show more warmth to your wife.”
Luis accepted the bag, touching his nose thoughtfully.
He reflected on their relationship; although they were back together and things seemed to be going well, he realized that much of his behavior was driven by his desire to win her back, leaving him tense and unable to fully enjoy their time together.
Luis kept the gift, expressing his appreciation.
Then Marcus hugged Melissa tenderly and joked, “You look really happy, don’t you? Maybe it’s time to have another daughter. Elva looks fine, you’ve been so busy lately and look at your hair coming in! Middle age tires a man out, doesn’t it?”
“Marcus!” Melissa exclaimed, half joking.
Marcus gently hugged Melissa and they looked like newlyweds once again, with Melissa looking quite small in comparison to his height.
Marcus looked at his wife, smiled and suggested, “Come on!”.
Luis returned to the hotel.
Elva had prepared for his return, bathed and ordered some food and a bottle of red wine, eagerly awaiting him.
The table was beautifully set and the ambiance enhanced by the glow of the red wine ready to be savored. Elva was reclining on the sofa, deeply absorbed in a script, oblivious to the world around her.
Luis, entering silently, closed the door behind him.
He placed a paper bag and a bouquet of flowers beside her, leaning down to give her a gentle kiss. “The gift is from your brother and I picked these flowers on the way back, do you like them?”
Elva was the first to delight in the scent of the flowers and smiled, “I like them!”
She then excitedly opened the paper bag to discover a rare out-of-production magic toy cube, a special find of Marcus’ for her. Holding it carefully, she appreciated it immediately.
Luis felt a pang of jealousy but mostly he was filled with the desire to see her smile.
As he gently brushed her hair aside, he whispered, “If you love it, I’ll find more for you. It might even be time for Samuel to start his own collection.” He thought about how he could make his wife and son happy together.
