Chapter 468:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
My jaw tightened as he continued. “I have lived through what would have killed hundreds of wolves. Every wound made me stronger. Every weakness was removed. Every limit was broken.” He stepped closer. “And now I am building an army that will not have those limits.”
I said nothing. He watched me carefully. “You could be part of it.”
I almost laughed. “Why would I want that?”
His answer was immediate. “You know what it means to watch weaker wolves sit upon thrones while your enemies grow stronger.”
I kept my face still. He had done his homework. “Perhaps I don’t need to.”

“Every Alpha says that before he learns what true power feels like.”
I looked at him. “What do you want in return?”
“When the time comes, you will serve beside me.” His expression didn’t change.
The physician stood silently behind him. The Chimera turned away. “Come.”
He walked toward another chamber. I followed, and Mitch stayed close. The room beyond was smaller. Several stone tables stood beneath hanging lamps, with papers scattered across them. Then I saw one name.
BLACKWATER.
My body went still. The Chimera noticed. “You recognize it.”
I didn’t answer.
He walked beside me. “The Blackwater bloodline has always been troublesome.”
My heart hammered once. Nero had been fighting the Chimera. He had been hunted by them. But this was different. They hadn’t simply discovered him. They had been watching him.
The Chimera moved his finger down the papers, then stopped. Olandria.
My blood turned cold. “Why Remi?”
The Chimera smiled. “She is not to be killed.”
I looked at him sharply. “Then what do you want with her?”
“She carries something I need.”
“What?”
He didn’t answer. Instead, his gaze moved toward another parchment. There was a drawing on it, an old drawing of a woman. She was beautiful, with long hair, pale skin, and eyes that seemed almost alive despite the age of the parchment. I stared at the face. She looked like Remi. Then I looked at the Chimera. His expression had changed. For the first time since I had entered the chamber, there was something other than coldness in his eyes.
Pain.
“She was mine.” His voice was quieter. “Before the Moon Goddess took her from me.”
I looked at the drawing again. “Olandria.” The name left my lips before I could stop it.
The Chimera’s eyes hardened. He stepped toward the portrait, and his fingers touched the edge of the parchment. “She was taken from me. For years, I have searched for a way to bring her back.”
“And Remi?”
His eyes moved toward me. “She is the key.”
I swallowed. “How?”
He looked at the symbol on the parchment. “Blood. Power. Memory. That is all you need to know.”
My mind raced. Remi had always been different. The runes. Her blood.
The Chimera stepped closer. “When the time is right, she will be brought to me alive.”
My wolf snarled, and I forced it down. He watched my face. “You care for her.” It wasn’t a question.
“She is the mate of the Dark Alpha.”
He followed my gaze. “When will you move?” I asked.
