Chapter 450:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Hello.” Levi, holding onto Ruby’s hand, nodded slightly in greeting and shook Jason’s outstretched hand.
Ruby nodded and looked up to survey the high-tech building, her eyes filled with distrust.
Right now, she was playing the role of someone who had lost part of her memory and had still forgotten about the art of healing, so there was nothing wrong with this reaction.
Jason was smiling as he talked to Levi, still keeping an eye on Ruby, with some hints of scrutiny in the corners of his eyes.
Seeing that curious look on her face, he had actually forgotten that he also knew about medical research.
With this in mind, he gestured toward the door and said politely, “Please come in, let’s sit down.”
“Okay” Levi nodded and went inside, leading Ruby inside.
The two were led directly to the living room, where Jason ordered refreshments to be prepared, which were soon served.
“I’m afraid you two aren’t used to drinking other things, so I’ve specially asked people to prepare tea in advance, do you two drink tea?”.

At Jason’s politeness, Levi’s attitude was more casual, nodding with a slight smile, “Thank you for your hospitality.”
“You’re welcome.” Jason waved and offered to make tea for the two of them, then the conversation turned to business.
“I heard your wife has a strange disease How is it memory loss? I heard people talk about it at the time, but I’m not quite sure of the details. Mr. Finn, what is it about?”.
At the mention of this, Levi’s face changed slightly.
“Ruby has a strange disease, surely you must have known about it before. Her body seems to have been injected with a strange potion, but with very little dosage. The ingredients have not detected, so far, except for memory loss and memory disorder symptoms, other aspects of damage to the body have not been detected. There is no treatment available in the country, so I will do everything possible to find a cure in a foreign laboratory.
At those words, Jason’s brow furrowed in seriousness.
“Just from what you have said, I cannot conclude what kind of potion was injected into his body, and as you have said, the ingredients of the potion are no longer detectable, so there is no point in insisting on what exactly was injected into his body now, the best way to solve the problem at this time is to develop a new potion directly for the condition.”
Levi voiced his understanding, “So?”
Jason thought for a moment before saying, “Mr. Finn, in order to resolve your wife’s condition as soon as possible, let your wife stay here for this period of time to undergo a full examination first. We will then carry out a series of treatments along with some studies based on her condition to make an accurate diagnosis.”
At these words, a dark flash passed through both Ruby’s and Levi’s pupils.
“This means that Ruby can’t leave the lab during this time, right?”. Levi confirmed.
“That’s right.” Jason looked self-conscious. “After all, this is too far from the center of town, if something happens, we have no way of knowing or doing anything about it, so for safety’s sake, it would be best if Mistress Finn didn’t leave here.”
As Ruby listened, her eyes flickered slightly and the corners of her lips slowly curved up.
“Levi, let’s do as requested.”
She spoke and Jason was surprised to hear, “Mrs. Finn seems interested in this place.”
Noticing the tentativeness in his words, Ruby didn’t rush or panic, she smiled slightly.
“Yes, I don’t know why, but I feel close to this place, like I’ve been here myself.”
Had been here? Jason had been here all along, and naturally he knew better.
Immediately, his face remained unchanged and he continued to appear polite.
“That’s just as well. You two can rest assured that we won’t neglect you here and will definitely take care of you in every way.”
In the end Levi said nothing more, just nodded his head.
The two men were soon ushered to the top floor of the building.
After stepping off the elevator, Ruby discovered that the top floor of the place was all guest rooms.
To put it mildly, it was a bit like an inpatient unit, but unlike inpatient wards, it was much nicer, like a five-star hotel.
“Mr. Finn and Mrs. Finn, you two will be staying here for the time being. So if you need anything, you can always ask me, or anyone else at the Institute.”
Jason led the two of them to the room down the hall to the left, opened the door and smiled at them.
Ruby walked in first, she looked around and found it was like a presidential suite, the decor and furnishings were very high end, her eyebrows twitched slightly. She sneered casually, “Mr. Jason, it seems this institute of yours is very profitable, the conditions here are good, it’s really rich.”
Jason froze for a moment before replying, “Because we want to welcome you, that’s why I have decorated it especially for you.”
After a couple of modest comments, Jason left.
After closing the door, Levi first said to Ruby in a warm voice, “Ruby, sit down for a moment, please.”
Then, he began to make the rounds throughout the suite.
“What are you doing?”
Levi kept moving, didn’t answer right away, and only after he had searched the entire suite once did he reply, “I want to see if there are any cameras, microphones, or anything like that.”
Ruby raised her eyebrows, “Did you find them?”.
Levi shook his head, “No.”
This outcome was entirely expected by Ruby.
If it had been her, she would have gone in and rummaged around too, but she didn’t think Jason had.
Whether he was Benjamin’s man or not, he should have heard the name Levi, a lieutenant from District 7, how could he not have that sense of recognition and vigilance?
Fitting those things in would be useless, plus it would raise his suspicions.
But now that they had stayed in the institute, it wasn’t easy to leave, given the heavily guarded appearance of the outside.
