Chapter 365:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Seeing how they wouldn’t stop talking to each other through video chats, voice calls, and texting every moment, Estefan decided to contact the monarchs of Denmark himself and convinced them to let Anna come back.
It was an easy task, considering most of her family was against it, but Estefan managed to work his way into her father’s heart, and he granted the request. We told Anna not to tell Esteban what was going on, so we could use it as a surprise discharge gift.
Esteban ran inside and pulled Anna into a hug. “I missed you, I missed you so much.” Esteban buried his face in her hair as he cried.
She wrapped her arms around him, but her baby bump created a bit of distance between them. “I missed you too.”
They pulled apart, and Anna used her thumbs to wipe Esteban’s tears. “I’m so sorry for leaving you,” she said, tears rolling down her cheeks.
“It’s fine.” He shook his head. “All that matters is that you are back, and I’m never going to let you leave my side ever again.”
“That’s so cute,” I sniffed and dabbed my eyes with my handkerchief. “Gosh, these pregnancy hormones.”

Andrea, Anna’s brother, who had come with her, moved closer to them and said to Esteban, “I want to apologize on behalf of my parents because Anna told me they said nasty things to you and your parents, especially your mom…”
“They came to get her. I want you to understand that they only did that because Anna is their only daughter, and they cared more about her future.”
“We understand, Andrea. My parents and I don’t hold any grudges,” Esteban replied with a smile on his face. “Thank you.” They hugged each other, and Estefan patted Andrea on the back before going to hug Anna. When they pulled apart, Esmeralda and I took turns hugging Anna and welcoming her back. Estefan and Esteban went into their father’s study because Estefan insisted that Esteban resume his duties immediately so they could properly announce him as the ruling king, given that their father wasn’t showing any sign of waking up.
Once Estefan was done, we stood up to leave the palace, but Anna stopped us.
“Don’t you guys plan to come back into the palace anymore?” she asked. “I feel bad that you left because you didn’t want to deal with Esteban and me. Would it be too much to ask you to come back?”
Estefan and I glanced at each other before he slung his arm over my shoulder.
“I know we left because of you guys, but now we’ve gotten used to the place, and it feels more comfortable staying there.”
“We want to stay there and build lots of memories with our kids, because we’ll eventually have to move out of the palace when you and Esteban ascend the throne,” I added.
“You’re right.” She nodded. “If that’s the case, there’s nothing I can say to convince you otherwise.”
“We’ll take our leave now.” Estefan intertwined our fingers, turning our hands to leave.
“Estefan, Rhea,” Anna called, making us stop in our tracks. “Thank you for everything you did for Esteban and me. I won’t ever forget it.”
