Chapter 535:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
I shook my head. Alvaro looked at the gun at his feet, shoulders heaving. Suddenly, Luther pulled out another knife and held it to my neck, while with his other hand he pointed it at my temple.
“One of you is going to get hurt. You can choose whether it’s her or you.” He had barely finished speaking when I felt the blade cut into my skin.
“Don’t hurt her, Luther! I’ll cut off my finger like you asked me to.”
Alvaro stared at me, his eyes full of fear. He slowly bent down and picked up the knife Luther had thrown.
“No!” I screamed.
“No!” Ady limped over in a hurry and grabbed Alvaro by the arm.
“Hurry up, don’t dawdle!” roared Luther.
Alvaro pressed hard on the knife handle.
“Let’s be clear once and for all, Luther. I’ll cut off my little finger and you’ll let her go.” Luther sketched a sinister smile.
“All right. I’ll let this woman go as soon as I see you bleed.”
“Luther!” Ady’s expression was terrible as she tried to get in front of Alvaro. “I’ll cut my hand off instead. Let Alvaro go.” Alvaro turned to her in surprise.
“How funny!” Luther laughed maniacally. “I never thought you were so charming, Alvaro. Your ex-wife is willing to sacrifice herself for your sake, even though you abandoned her in the past. But I am not so cruel as to let such a beauty suffer. A broken hand won’t do you any good, Ady, and neither will it do me. I just want her little finger. Now, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and do what you say! If you drag this out any longer, I might cut her throat. I’ll count to three. If you keep wasting my time, you’d better say goodbye to this woman.” Luther gave a wicked grin and started counting.
“One!”
Alvaro moved quickly, crouched on the ground and placed his hand palm down in front of him. He tilted the blade so he could slice off his finger in one stroke.
“Two!”
“No, Alvaro, please don’t!” I screamed.
Then, before Luther could say “three,” Alvaro’s free hand moved. The next thing I knew, blood was gushing all around him.

He choked back a scream, his face flushed red and his forehead pearly with sweat.
“Alvaro!” Ady came instantly, sobbing and cradling his shoulders.
Alvaro held the pain and looked at Luther.
“I did what you asked,” he said, his voice trembling. “Now, let her go!”
Luther let out another sinister laugh.
“I guess it’s true that beauties are always behind a hero’s downfall.”
He let go and pushed me forward. I ran to Alvaro, my heart cringing at the sight of his bleeding hand.
“Are you okay, how bad is it?”
He closed his eyes and pressed his lips tightly together. His face paled by the minute, but he still sketched a weak smile.
“It’s okay,” he murmured. “I’ll be fine.”
“I’ll give you one last chance to be together!” Luther suddenly shouted. It seemed he wasn’t finished yet. “They’re all going to hell with me in the end!”. I turned to see him staggering, seemingly unable to stand upright.
He unzipped the bulging pouch around his waist, revealing a handful of explosives. He waved a lighter with his other hand, taunting us.
“Come on! Try to get close to me if you dare! Today is a good day to die. And besides I’ll be able to take them with me, hahaha! I won’t be lonely, at least…” A gun shot out of nowhere. We all froze, and then we watched as blood began to drip from a hole in Luther’s forehead down to his chin.
His stunned expression gave way to a wicked grin. Next thing we knew, he had lit the fuse to the bomb with his lighter.
“Look out!” the police shouted in alarm.
At that fateful moment, Ady ran toward Luther and dragged him over the cliff, sacrificing himself in the process.
Then there was a loud explosion.
“Ady!” I rushed to the edge of the cliff in desperation.
