Chapter 191:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Kelly’s POV
Seeing Emily lying in the hospital bed breaks my heart. She’s the friend and sister I found when I was struggling to survive and save myself. She made me realize that my life was important and that I still had a chance. No matter how difficult my journey had been, she showed me that there was light waiting at the end of the path.
Almost a week ago, the argument between Matt, Pierce, Connor, Diane Foster, and me ended when the doctor announced Emily and Mason’s conditions. In the end, both Mason and Emily woke up, but a huge problem arose, shocking me.
Emily lost her memories, and what’s worse, she was pregnant and lost her child in the accident. It was painful and cruel. I didn’t know the whole story behind Emily’s life, but I could tell she had gone through a lot of suffering.
“Please eat…” Matt begged, trying to feed Emily.
Emily looked at him sharply. “Who are you? Did my father send you? Huh?”
Matt shook his head in pain. “No. Your father didn’t send me. I am… your boyfriend.”
“Boyfriend? Are you kidding me? My boyfriend is dead! My father got him killed after he killed my child!”
I squeezed my eyes shut and left the room, feeling the pain in my chest. Something like this must have happened to her in the past. No wonder she was full of hatred, bitterness, and anger toward the world. No wonder… she hated being betrayed.
“She will recover,” Pierce said gently, pulling me into a hug.
I swallowed hard and nodded. I didn’t know what to do anymore. Our plan was already set, but now, I wasn’t sure we could execute it. Emily’s men wouldn’t take any action without her orders. Because of what happened, my resolve to bring down Connor Foster had only grown stronger, and now, with Emily in this situation, we were left with no choice but to team up with Klay.

“Will you really be okay if we ask for his help?” Pierce asked gently, caressing my hand.
I nodded at him. “Yes. I’m more worried about you. You’re not on good terms with him, right?”
He shook his head. “We can set that aside. We have the same goal, Kelly. And to protect you, I’ll do anything—be it teaming up with the man I’m jealous of or bargaining with the devil.”
I caressed his cheek before my eyes landed on the door next to Emily’s hospital room. Mason was inside. I hadn’t talked to him since he woke up, but Matt had said he was fine.
I looked at Pierce. “I want to talk to him.”
He nodded and smiled. “I’ll wait here.”
I nodded before sliding open the door to Mason’s hospital room. His eyes immediately met mine. They were still cold and angry, but I could see the guilt and worry resurfacing in them.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, looking away.
I sighed and sat on the chair beside his bed. “Visiting you.”
“I don’t need a visitor.”
“But I need to visit.”
His forehead creased as he turned to face me again. “You said my father was the reason behind your mother’s death. Why are you still visiting me? I’m the son of the person who got your mom killed.”
“Do you believe me now?” I asked, tilting my head.
He shook his head and laughed sarcastically. “Why would I believe you?”
“Then, do you believe your twin?”
He was rendered speechless. He clenched his jaw and looked away once again. I knew it was hard for him to believe, because accepting it would mean turning his back on the person who raised him. This wasn’t easy for him, and I understood that.
I pulled myself up and stared at him. “Emily lost her memories… and her child. She doesn’t remember anything. I want to blame you for what happened to her, but I don’t know the whole story.”
He looked at me then. His eyes were sharp. “You think you’re a good person for not blaming me? Why don’t you blame me? It was my fault. Come on! Blame me! I did that to your friend. I killed her child. I made her lose her memories. Blame me—”
I didn’t let him finish. I slapped him. He stared at me with sharp eyes, his jaw clenched.
I sucked in a breath and looked at him with hatred. “If anyone should blame you, it should be Emily, because you wronged her. And I hope she won’t forgive you. Because even after what you did, you’re still proud, selfish, and arrogant. She lost her child, Mason. Your twin brother’s child. Just wait until she regains her memory, and I’m telling you… she’ll hate you until her very last breath.”
I turned my back and stormed out of the room.
I’m still trying to understand it all, but if he refuses to regret what he did, even though he’s my cousin, I will spend every last penny I have to make him pay for what he did. I’ll put him behind bars with his parents, and I swear it in the name of Emily’s dead child.
We went home that day after leaving some of Pierce’s hired bodyguards to look after Matt, Mason, and Emily. We had already discussed meeting Klay tomorrow, and I’d called him to confirm.
I was talking to Snow through video call while sitting on the kitchen stool, and Pierce was standing in front of the stove, cooking.
“I love the food here, mommy. Please come here soon with daddy. I’m gonna introduce you to my friends too!”
I smiled. “You gained friends?”
“Yes! They are Oliver, Liam, Nate, Julian—”
“Wait… wait…” Pierce interrupted, showing himself on the screen.
“Daddy!”
Pierce’s eyes narrowed. “Did I hear boys’ names, princess?”
Snow giggled. “They are my friends, daddy. They’re so kind to me.”
“No!” Pierce frowned. “They have a crush on you, so don’t be friends with them.”
I pinched Pierce’s side, and he frowned at me.
“Daddy, don’t say that!” Snow said, sounding shy.
Pierce’s eyes widened. “Are you shy?”
I chuckled, which earned Pierce’s attention. He frowned at me again. “Kels, your daughter!”
Arrogance.
I laughed. “She’s your daughter too.”
He groaned. “Why do you have to be so beautiful, and why does she have to look like you?”
I placed my palms on my chin. “Your fault for marrying a goddess.”
He chuckled and pecked my lips before turning to look at Snow on the screen of my laptop. Our daughter was giggling while watching us.
“Someday, I’m gonna marry someone like daddy,” Snow said, obviously teasing her dad. I smirked at her.
“Marry?” Pierce groaned. “You’re not going to marry anyone. You’ll stay my baby because no one will be deserving of my beautiful princess. No one!”
