Chapter 203:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
I remember the time when daddy wasn’t with us, and it was just mom and me. We were okay, but we weren’t truly happy. Mommy worked so hard to fill my life with happiness, and she succeeded, but I always felt like something was missing.
And this is what was missing—the complete family that mommy fought so hard for. She struggled, but she never gave up. She fought for daddy, and daddy fought for her. Together, they fought for this family.
I understand everything now. It’s not the place that makes a home, it’s the people.
Since I was five, I knew that happiness has always been what my heart has longed for. I turned 15, and that happiness remained. I know that mom and dad would fight for this happiness again. And if everything went back to that time, I know they would make the same decision. My mommy and daddy are my fighters. They are the walls and the roof that have protected me. They didn’t care if they got hurt in the process, as long as they could protect this family and each other.
Now, I’m 18. I’m wearing a pink, elegant dress as I walk down the grand staircase. I can’t help but tear up as I see my loved ones watching me walk down the aisle. I am this family’s princess. I am this family’s treasure, and I know that I’ll always remain that way.
My boyfriends watch me with admiration. They’re waiting for me, and I know they will argue over who will escort me. I chuckled as they pushed each other, trying to rush up the stairs to accompany me, but a strict man clearing his throat stopped them.
I gasped when daddy walked between them. He was frowning, just as he does whenever he sees my friends, but when he looked at me, his eyes softened, and he immediately flashed the sweetest smile.
“You’re so gorgeous, my princess!” he greeted me with a smile, and I smiled back at him.
“You look handsome too, daddy.”
He chuckled and caressed his chin. “I know, right?”

He held my hand and glared at Oliver, my closest friend, before guiding me to the dance floor. I had been introduced earlier while I was at the end of the staircase, and now it was time for the 18 roses.
Daddy was my first dance partner. He kept reminding me how my friends had crushes on me, and he kept saying he would “skin them alive” if they courted me while I’m still in college. I laughed at him every time he said that. I know he’s just protecting me, not being strict. He’s afraid that my story will mirror his and mom’s, but I don’t mind, because they ended up together, and they’re happy with our complete family.
“I love you so much, my princess. Always remember that no matter what happens, you’ll always be my baby girl, my princess, my treasure.”
I smiled and gently kissed his cheek. “I love you too, daddy. Don’t worry. I won’t get hurt, and you won’t lose me. I will always be with you and mommy, even if I get married someday. And if I end up with one of them, I trust that they will make me happy just as much as you make mommy happy.”
He nodded, and I saw tears welling up in the corners of his eyes. “You’re overreacting, daddy.”
“I know, my princess. Thank you for understanding.”
I chuckled and squeezed his hand before he walked away from me. My second dance, and the ones that followed, were with my uncles, and then with my friends, who looked so happy when they danced with me.
“I like you, Snow. And I’m willing to wait until you fall for me.”
His eyes were full of emotions—emotions I had seen in my dad’s eyes whenever he looked at my mom. I knew what that was. Was he really… in love?
My lips parted as I stared at him. I didn’t know what to say. Dad had been reminding me about their feelings, but now that one of them had confessed his hidden feelings, I didn’t know how to respond. I felt like I might pass out, my heart racing so fast in my chest.
