Chapter 547:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Who would have guessed that even a bottom-feeder like this would be so hard to fool?
What approach would they take when facing Quentin himself?
Lucas’ nerves were shot—his shirt clung to him, drenched in anxious sweat.
At last, the tattooed man tore his gaze away and zeroed in on Lucas, his expression hard and unforgiving. “I only deal with you,” he snapped. “Get these leeches out of my sight.”
Lucas squared his shoulders, forcing his voice steady. “The order you’re asking for is massive. There’s no way I can get it done on schedule without her.” He motioned toward Dayna, his jaw set. “She’s essential to the deal.”

He hesitated only a moment before pressing on, locking eyes with the tattooed man. “And here’s how I work: however you treat me, you treat my friends. You’ve shown nothing but disrespect.”
The tattooed man sneered, planting his hands on his hips, thick arms flexing with impatience. “You’re just the guy who makes bombs. Why do you think you deserve any respect at all?”
Lucas’ expression hardened, his eyes glinting with icy resolve as he let out a sharp, bitter laugh. “In that case, our deal is off. I’ll make sure everyone knows what kind of business you run—no one will ever sell anything to you.” With a curt nod, he signaled Dayna. “Let’s get out of here.”
Dayna silently wheeled Kristopher toward the exit, determination etched on her face. Before they could take another step, the tattooed man stepped forward, his gun raised to block their path.
“Nobody moves.” His greedy gaze swept over the crates of bombs stacked nearby, making his intentions unmistakable. “You can leave if you want—but the goods stay with me.”
Dayna’s glare was frigid, her voice low and contemptuous. “So you’re just going to rob us in broad daylight?”
The tattooed man shrugged, a mocking sneer twisting his lips. “It’s only a few bombs. Why should I pay you a fortune for something I can take for free?”
