Chapter 1007:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Mike’s eyes reddened with fury. “Damn it… if I hadn’t gone to the hospital that day, my mother would’ve died without anyone ever knowing the truth. But that lunatic didn’t panic after getting caught. She grabbed a knife straight off the table and came at me like she wanted me dead.”
His voice rose uncontrollably. “I told her to put the knife down. I said I wouldn’t report her for trying to kill my mother. I was willing to let it go! But she acted like she’d completely lost her mind. She only wanted one thing, to kill me.”
He instinctively touched his shoulder, his face darkening. “If I hadn’t dodged in time, that knife would’ve gone through my throat instead of my shoulder. When I shoved her away, it was self-defense. Her falling to her death had nothing to do with me. She brought it on herself!”
Without warning, Luca’s fist crashed into Mike’s face. The impact was brutal. Mike’s body staggered backward violently, almost thrown off balance completely. A tooth mixed with blood flew from his mouth and hit the floor with a sharp clack.
Blood streamed down his face, but he couldn’t even think about the pain. Panic swallowed the arrogance he had moments ago. He hurriedly pushed himself backward, retreating as far as possible. “Y-you promised!” he shouted in terror. “You said if I told the truth, you wouldn’t touch me for at least a month!”
Luca’s fist remained suspended in the air, veins bulging along the back of his hand. His eyes burned with murderous rage, his chest rising and falling heavily. After a long silence, he slowly unclenched his fist and collapsed onto the floor as though every ounce of strength had drained out of him.
“Get out,” Luca said hoarsely.
Mike froze. For a second, he thought he had heard wrong.

Luca shut his eyes tightly. “Run as far as you can. Hide wherever you want. Because once I find you…” His voice turned colder than ice. “I won’t let you die that easily. I’ll make sure you understand there are things far worse than death.”
A chill crawled up Mike’s spine. He glanced at Luca suspiciously before turning toward Adrian, whose expression remained calm and unreadable. As he realized neither of them intended to stop him, relief exploded inside him almost instantly. Ecstasy replaced fear. He tried to scramble to his feet and escape, but the moment he moved, unbearable pain shot through his body and slammed him back onto the floor.
One of his legs was already crippled, and Luca had twisted the other until the bone snapped. Even the slightest movement felt like knives tearing through flesh. Yet neither Luca nor Adrian showed the slightest intention of helping him.
Mike didn’t dare ask. Walking away alive today already felt like escaping through the gates of hell. Grinding his teeth against the agony, he dragged himself forward with trembling hands, clawing desperately across the freezing tiles. Inch by inch, he crawled toward the door like a battered insect struggling to survive. As long as he could get out of this room, there was still hope.
