Chapter 750:

This time, she offered no resistance.
Myron’s chest thudded with a mixture of joy and longing. He had wanted to have her all these years.
But when he raised his head, he was struck by the vacant look in her eyes, still fixed on the ceiling. There was no spark, just emptiness.
She lay there like a rag doll, lifeless and compliant.
The sight was like icy water thrown over Myron, instantly quenching his desire. His heart throbbed with pain.
Suppressing his hunger, he carefully buttoned up her clothes. Millie watched him and softly asked, “Why did you stop?” But he only pulled her back into his arms.
“You wanted me, didn’t you?” she murmured.
Myron kissed her forehead, a sorrowful look in his eyes. “I want to wait until the day you truly want it too,” he said gently.
“Brandon is a scumbag. But Millie, there are people who love you, people who truly care,” he continued, brushing his fingers gently against her cheek. “You don’t have to hold it in. Cry if you need to. We’re not just lovers; we’re family. You don’t need to put up an act around me.”
Millie’s eyes stung, and for a fleeting moment, reality seemed to return to her. She didn’t answer. She just buried her face against his chest.
Myron stroked her back softly, soothing her as she finally drifted into sleep in his arms. When she was asleep, he pressed a tender kiss to her cheek.
After tucking the blanket around her, he went to the bathroom for a cold shower. When he returned, he glanced at his phone and saw Alexia’s message. He read through it and pieced things together.
Immediately, he tried calling Giffard, but no one picked up. Hesitating, he sent a message instead. Then he rang Rita to tell her about Millie’s condition.
The thought of Brandon reignited Myron’s rage. He knew his plan had to be accelerated. He couldn’t afford any more delays. Once everything was handled, Myron returned to Millie’s side, slipping into bed and holding her against him.

Elsewhere, at Vivian’s residence, she re-entered her room and pulled out a hidden phone. She pressed the dial button. After a few moments, someone picked up.
“What’s up?”
“Something’s off lately,” Vivian said. After being confined for those days, everything felt strange, as if the world had spun off its axis.
“What is the problem?” the voice asked.
“I’m not sure,” Vivian said slowly, thinking. Then she added, “You cleaned up the traces, didn’t you? No one knows it was me who ordered you to get rid of Millie’s child, right?”
“If anyone had known, it would have come out long ago,” the voice replied flatly. “No need to worry about it now.”
Vivian exhaled, feeling some of the tension ease. She gave a small nod. “Alright. Now you…” She kept asking questions about a few matters.
But she failed to notice that when she entered the room, the caretaker had slipped out quietly.
As Vivian spoke on the phone, the caretaker crouched outside, pressing her ear to the thin gap under the door, straining to catch every word.
