Chapter 550:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Alright, have some coffee and calm down,” Hayley said, gesturing to Violet.
Violet understood immediately. “Emely, I’ll go make you an espresso.”
With that, she left the conference room.
Hayley stood up, walked over to Emely, and gently ruffled her hair. “I know you’re upset. But you have to understand, the best time to deliver a fatal blow is when the enemy is most complacent and least guarded. Besides, in this game, one crucial player has yet to appear.”
Emely looked up, her red-rimmed eyes filled with confusion. “Who?”
“Clinton.”
A cold glint flashed in Hayley’s eyes as she narrowed them slightly.
Her grandfather probably still clung to some hope for her. Only when he was certain she had lost all her value would he show his true colors.
And the moment he joined the game, that was when the Morgan family would truly begin its descent into ruin.

Hayley turned back, her gaze once again falling on Emmalyn’s hypocritical face on the live stream, and sneered.
She figured her grandfather must be watching the stream right now.
She wondered how much longer he would hesitate over what little value she had left.
In a quiet room, the atmosphere was stifling.
Clinton was having tea with an unexpected guest, Walter.
“Walter, I never expected you to come. What brings a busy man like you here?” Clinton smiled, steadily pouring a cup of tea for his old friend.
Walter stared at the cup without touching it, letting out a heavy sigh. “Clinton, we’ve known each other for decades, so I’ll be blunt.”
He hesitated, his tone carrying a complicated weight. “Kaden is the most talented child I have ever seen. I poured everything I had into cultivating him, helping him get to where he is now. I thought he would follow the path I laid out for him. But these past two days… I’ve discovered that the very weapon I forged has not only gone out of control.”
Clinton’s hand, holding his teacup, paused. He lifted his eyes to study the other man. “So, are you planning to destroy him, or… risk it all to play along with him?”
The question hit the nail on the head.
It was the very thing that had kept Walter up at night, worried sick for the past two days.
Walter picked up his cup and took a sip, the bitter taste spreading across his tongue. “Play along with him? Evans Group would have to undergo a complete revolution. Those veterans in the company would be purged. Even Harold could get caught up in it.”
“Walter, to be honest, I’ve been in the same situation.” Clinton placed his cup down on the table with a sharp rap. “My granddaughter, Hayley, has astonishing potential. From the day she returned, she’s had Harold and his family wrapped around her finger. In the conflicts that followed, she handled them all with incredible ease.”
