Chapter 563:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Mr. Evans, what is it?”
“I’m at the Morgans’.”
Hayley froze.
“I knew you wouldn’t stay put tonight.” Kaden’s voice came through the line, steady and unhurried, carrying a confident tone, as if he had predicted everything. “So I came ahead to run interference.”
A relieved smile crossed Hayley’s face. “Mr. Evans, no wonder you can be called the living King of Flanmery; your vision is truly far-sighted.” She sighed inwardly, thinking that Kaden already knew what she was going to do next. This man seemed to have been silently paying attention to her, only to extend a helping hand at just the right time.
After hanging up the phone, Hayley felt a little conflicted. She hadn’t originally wanted to involve Kaden, but this man had plunged right in. Still, with Kaden creating momentum for her now, others would believe that she was truly at her wit’s end.
The Morgan estate was ablaze with light.
Kaden leaned back on the sofa, arms crossed, his cold gaze passing over the gathered members of the Morgan family with quiet contempt.
Under that formidable stare, Harold and Emmalyn stiffened, exchanging a wary glance.

“Mr. Evans, what brings you here at this hour?” Harold asked, his mouth curving into a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
Kaden glanced at his watch before answering coldly, “I’m here for Hayley, Mr. Morgan.”
“Oh?” Harold raised an eyebrow, his tone probing. “So you’re here on her behalf?”
“Yes,” Kaden said, his voice firm. “She’s my wife. I’m not going to stand by and watch her be destroyed.”
“Impossible!” Harold cut him off. “We’re only at this point because Hayley forced our hand. And now you want to call a truce? Do you think this is some kind of game?”
Kaden’s gaze turned glacial, and the air in the room grew heavy. Harold and Emmalyn flinched, their faces paling.
“So you’re determined to ruin her?”
Harold drew a ragged breath, forcing down the tremor in his chest. “It’s either her or us now. There’s no middle ground.”
“Kaden!”
Before Kaden could respond, a commanding voice cut through the room. Everyone turned to see Clinton and Walter striding in together. Their combined presence shifted the atmosphere instantly.
Walter fixed his glare on Kaden and slammed his cane against the floor. “Is this what I taught you? Throwing your weight around and bullying people? Are you trying to disgrace the Evans family name?”
“Grandfather,” Kaden said, his brow furrowing. “What are you doing here?”
“If I hadn’t come, you would have torn our two families apart today.” With a mix of fury and bitter disappointment, Walter barked, “Now, apologize to Harold.”
“Apologize?” Kaden let out a cold laugh, his eyes flicking to Harold. “As if he deserves one.”
“You, what did you just say?!” Walter’s face flushed. For the first time, he felt his grandson slipping from his control. “Are you defying me?”
