Chapter 478:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Darya, wearing a warm smile, introduced Thomas. “This is Thomas Cavanaugh.”
Timothy’s expression turned sour as soon as he heard the surname. “Another Cavanaugh? You’re not related to Micah, are you?”
Thomas nodded, acknowledging the family connection. “Yes, Micah is my cousin. But I grew up overseas and only recently returned. I heard that Enigma Manor is quite popular here, so I thought I’d give it a try. Mind if I join you guys?”
Timothy was about to decline, but Darya intervened. “Sure, it’s no problem.”
Timothy reluctantly agreed, suppressing the displeasure he felt. Thomas became part of their group, and they ventured into the eerie darkness of Enigma Manor.
As they stepped into the first room, they found themselves in a dimly lit, rundown space that exuded an air of foreboding. The room was small and claustrophobic, with worn-out walls covered in peeling wallpaper and patches of mold. The flickering lights cast dark shadows, creating an unsettling ambiance.
The air was heavy, carrying a musty scent mixed with a hint of decay. The floor creaked beneath their feet, adding to the tension and making them second-guess every step they took. The room was filled with an eerie silence, occasionally broken by distant, chilling sounds like faint whispers, distant footsteps, or ominous creaks.
The furniture in the room appeared aged and decrepit. A rusty metal bed with tattered sheets rested against one wall, a broken rocking chair swayed eerily in the corner, and a cracked mirror reflected distorted images. The room was cluttered with worn-out books, yellowed photographs, and peculiar objects that might or might not be the clues they needed to unlock the key.
The walls were adorned with unsettling artwork, featuring twisted and macabre scenes that evoked a sense of unease. The figures in the portraits seemed to follow the team members with their eyes. Shadows danced across the walls, seemingly alive and whispering secrets only known to the darkness.
Darya, known for her fearlessness, led the way, with Thomas by her side, equally undaunted by the haunted ambiance. However, the calm atmosphere was shattered when Timothy let out a piercing scream, giving everyone a start. Bianca echoed his fear, and Darya couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on.

She turned around, concerned, and asked, “What happened to you guys?”
Timothy’s trembling voice conveyed his terror. “I… I think someone touched my leg…”
Darya glanced around, assuring them, “Don’t worry, there’s no one else here.”
Though still frightened, Timothy was determined not to appear cowardly in front of Darya. He held his fear in check, following Darya in silence.
Thomas was an adventurous soul, always eager to embrace challenges. He took the lead, unearthing clues and solving puzzles effortlessly. His presence provided a sense of security to the group, making him the pillar they relied upon.
