Chapter 532:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Allison stared at the screen, awe mixing with chilling fear. Adam’s counterattack was a pincer movement of breathtaking ruthlessness. With one hand, he had elevated her to the highest echelons of finance. With the other, he had delivered the killing blow. If the Page Six article was a warning shot, this TMZ leak, with its marriage certificates and court records, was the execution. He had reached into her enemy’s past and shredded whatever remained of her lies.
This was his rage, refined and weaponized.
In Finn’s penthouse, the morning was unfolding in a haze of feigned domesticity. Cheyanne, wearing one of his crisp white dress shirts, was humming softly as she prepared breakfast. She had played her part perfectly the night before, her performance of a broken, terrified victim earning her a fragile, temporary reprieve. After their explosive breakup weeks ago, she had crawled back, weaponizing her tears until he’d finally allowed her back into his bed, a decision he was already beginning to regret.
Finn was on the sofa, scrolling through his phone. Cheyanne watched him out of the corner of her eye as his body went rigid.

“It’s never going to end, is it?” he whispered, his face turning pasty white. He had tried to ignore the rumors, to believe her excuses about the Page Six scandal, but this was different.
She immediately abandoned the sizzling bacon and rushed to his side, her face a perfect mask of manufactured shock. “Oh, my God,” she breathed, looking at the TMZ article on his screen.
“A marriage? Actual casino debts?” Finn’s voice was a low, disgusted snarl. He threw the phone onto the couch as if it were contaminated. “You swore the Page Six story was all Adam’s fabrications. You told me there were no more secrets, Cheyanne!”
She didn’t answer. Instead, her face crumpled, and she sank to her knees on the expensive rug, wracked with sobs.
“He’s digging up ancient history to finish me off!” she shrieked, her voice rising with calculated hysteria. “He knows you were starting to forgive me, so he’s manufacturing more dirt. He’s trying to destroy me, Finn. This isn’t an attack on me, it’s an attack on us.”
Finn watched her, his face a storm of confusion and disgust. No defense of her past, only a desperate pivot, a raw attempt to drag him into her narrative. She was no longer a liar who had been exposed. She was trying to make herself a casualty in a war between powerful men.
“He wants everyone to think I’m a fraud so no one will believe me when I tell them what Allison is really like,” she cried, grabbing his hand. “He wants to isolate you, to make you abandon me, so he and Allison can win.”
Her words, perfectly tailored to his insecurities, wormed their way into his mind. He hated Adam’s power. He was pathologically jealous of Allison’s new station. Cheyanne was skillfully weaving all his resentments into a single narrative where he was not a fool who had been duped, but a knight defending his wronged lady.
His expression shifted from disgust to dark, brooding anger.
Seeing her advantage, Cheyanne pressed on, clinging to his leg, her tear-streaked face upturned in desperate dependence. “Finn, please. You’re the only one who can protect me now. Everyone has abandoned me. Don’t you abandon me too. Please.”
