Chapter 334:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
As Sophia gradually calmed down, Stella sat by her side. She had spent years pursuing her dream, cautiously struggling to maintain it all the way. In the end, it was destroyed. Stella could sense Sophia’s discomfort.
However, she couldn’t hold Sophia in her arms, pretending to hypocritically comfort her. Yet, she also couldn’t bring herself to say anything that would mock or add salt to the wound.
She couldn’t say something like, “It’s not your fault, cheer up…” It was because she was not a saint. She could not forget all the harm others had brought to her. In the past, she had been weak and dull, but right now, it was different.
She knew what kind of hurt could be forgiven and which ones couldn’t. With such prolonged grievances between her and Sophia, even if Sophia knelt on the ground to apologize, Stella could not immediately forgive her and befriend her.
She was just a normal person. To her, there was nothing wrong with her idea.
“Well, I am sorry for causing you trouble today, but now that I have made it clear to you, I can finally let it go.” Sophia stood up and spoke in a relaxed tone. “I am going on a trip tomorrow. The train is set to leave at 10 o’clock. I might be away for a long time.”
Sophia taking the train surprised Stella. Wouldn’t the wealthy young lady take a plane whenever she had to leave for another place? Since she chose to take the train, it seemed that she had truly turned over a new leaf.
It was great to be on a train, but Stella wondered if the young lady could handle altitude sickness.
After Sophia left, Stella’s heart was thrown into turmoil. Damn, she wanted to go on a trip too, to Tibet. Was Sophia there to repent or to show off to her? Damn, wasn’t she there to tease and stir her restless heart?
With pity indeed… She might not be able to travel for the next half year. Based on the current situation, the injury on her back would probably not heal any time soon.
When RK returned, he found Stella lying on the bed, wallowing in self-pity and sorrow.
“What’s wrong? Shouldn’t you be overjoyed now?”

“Why should I be?” Stella replied, puzzled.
“Since Sophia will no longer go against you, shouldn’t you let out a sigh of relief?”
“Why should I let out a sigh of relief since she has promised not to go against me? I have never treated her as an opponent, okay?” Stella’s face was full of disdain.
“You are always so optimistic,” RK pointed out with a smile.
“Of course.” Stella was not willing to back down either.
“That’s not right… How did you know that Sophia came looking for me? Did you eavesdrop on her?”
“I happened to run into Sophia when I left the hospital. She told me about it,” RK explained kindly, noticing Stella’s confusion.
Stella curled her lips in disdain.
It wasn’t long before the bored Stella struggled to raise her head and check the time with great difficulty. It was past noon.
“RK, hurry up and buy lunch. I haven’t had a single bite. I am starving.”
“All you know is to eat. A foodie, a good-for-nothing.” RK had no choice but to grab his money and head out.
Stella concentrated on turning on her laptop and playing games.
After what had happened with Sophia, Stella was no longer in the mood for creative writing. Sophia’s words had disturbed her mood in an instant. It was to the point where Stella felt the need to shut herself in.
She was reminded of when Hugo wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dame…
Shutting himself in was what he did by locking all his clothes in the wardrobe, throwing the key out, and confining himself at home, which led to him producing that once-in-a-lifetime legacy book.
Stella figured that she might need to lock the door of the ward and drive away all guests before she could force RK out of the ward.
She would lie on the bed and immerse herself in the silent atmosphere of writing the book, staying in the ward until she had completed it. Deep down, she knew that this idea wasn’t valid for the moment, but it could still be accomplished after she was discharged from the hospital.
When RK returned to the hospital after buying lunch, Stella was famished. After lunch, she dozed off on the bed.
“RK, wake me up when it’s time for dinner. I need to take a good rest today.” With no further words, Stella fell asleep on the bed.
RK sat on the sofa to start checking his emails on the laptop. An email popped up at the right time; it was from Carson Vives.
It was then RK remembered that he hadn’t heard from him in a long time.
Back when they were in school… Carson and he were well-matched opponents who considered each other an eyesore. Later, RK defeated and injured him in a basketball game, and they never saw each other again. The one who regarded him as both an enemy and a friend…
Rumors said that he had left the country, while the injury on his leg had healed. He seemed to be living a comfortable life abroad. Why would he send a sudden email?
RK tapped on the notification to see that it was an engagement invitation held in a hotel owned by the RK Group. It seemed that the entire hotel had been booked. As his eyes scanned the card, RK felt doubt. Shouldn’t Carson be abroad? Was he back?
It was then RK received a call from Mrs. Cassidy.
