Chapter 338:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
After RK took his seat, he raised his head to flash a smile at Carson.
“Long time no see, RK!” Carson appeared to be as nitwitted as ever.
“Long time no see, Carson Vives.” After the waiter approached their table, RK ordered a cup of coffee.
“You are no different from before.”
“You haven’t changed either.” RK could tell that the conversation between the two of them was heading in a boring direction.
“Do you remember the basketball match before graduation?” Carson took the initiative to ask.
“Yes, I do.”
“Do you remember how my legs were injured? It was you. You are the one who caused it.”
“It’s none of my business if you hurt your leg after not being able to accept the fact that you failed.” RK retorted in an ice-cold voice. It was obvious that Carson wanted nothing more than to provoke him into a fight.
“It’s your business. I say so.” Carson began throwing an unreasonable tantrum.
“What do you want then?” RK’s tone was indifferent, as if he couldn’t care less about Carson’s provocation.
“Nothing much. I am back to find fault with you.” Observing RK’s nonchalant response, Carson was infuriated by RK’s disregard for his anger. Although RK had always been cold and arrogant, he had at least regarded Carson as an opponent. What was he trying to imply with his “I am fine with anything. Do as you please” attitude? Was RK looking down on him? Damn it!
“Carson, I very much welcome your return. I, too, look forward to competing with you again, but I don’t want you to involve my personal life.” After pondering for a moment, RK felt the need to draw a clear line with Carson.
Since there were things he didn’t want to add to their conflict, he would choose to ignore him once and for all!

“What are you talking about? Don’t you understand? I am just trying to find fault with you—not only in your career but also in your private life. I will never let go or miss out on anything related to you.”
The corners of Carson’s lips raised into a smirk. He was well aware of how much RK valued the RK Group. RK could easily rebuild a stronger company, but he could never find another son or daughter—or the woman in the hospital! Carson was keenly aware that RK couldn’t be as fearless as he used to be. Once RK established a family, he would have weaknesses and worries. As such, Carson could use this point to defeat RK with ease.
“Then give it a try. I will make sure you lose miserably.” With that, RK got up and left without another word.
Carson sat in his seat, sipping his orange juice as he fell into thought.
When he was in college…
There was an excellent psychology student who conducted a test on him… The test results acknowledged that boys like him, who appeared tough on the surface but had a close preference for orange juice, were pure at heart.
Back then, he had laughed it off and jeered at the top psychology student for being so naive.
Right now, he was beginning to realize that he was much more sincere than RK. RK was gentle and refined even when issuing a threat. Although he might appear dignified and poised, to be honest, he was a beast—a wolf hidden under sheep’s wool.
Fortunately, he had something on RK right now, so he could confront him without worries. Once RK let his guard down even slightly, Carson could decisively take action and exploit RK’s weakness. He would then waste no time ensuring that RK lived a life worse than death, begging for mercy on his knees. Ha, ha, ha…
Just as the thought of this scene delighted Carson, Stella turned on her laptop, captivated by her thoughts, yet she had no idea what her next plot would be. After lying on the bed like a corpse for a while, she looked at the time: 9:40 p.m. Great. RK was out having fun, abandoning her alone. Believe it or not, she would…
Deep down, Stella understood that she seemed to have nothing that could threaten him. Since he was willing to stay and take care of her, he had done his best. Not to mention that he seemed to have no reason to stay—how could she have the right to threaten him?
They obviously had no relationship whatsoever. She was at most considered his ex-wife and the mother of his son. There was no reason for him to take care of her.
It was then that Stella realized she had been too blinded… It was time to see reality clearly. There wouldn’t be any long-term results between her and RK, even without Sophia’s involvement.
She couldn’t have a long-term relationship with someone who had already abandoned her once. Not only could she not accept it, but she also could not let go of the past…
Even if she had decided not to hate him any longer… she had resolved not to investigate the incidents from six years ago, but that did not mean she could continue to stay and get into a relationship with RK as if nothing had happened.
Yet, she wondered why she had grown so dependent on RK during that time. It was not her usual behavior. She wasn’t the kind of girl who could be tamed with a little coaxing. She wasn’t easily swayed by casual words from others.
Having grown into adulthood long ago, she failed to understand what she had been avoiding during that period. Why did she insist on wanting RK to be beside her? Was it the decision she had deep in her heart? It took her so long to rediscover her rationale…
She must have gone mad. She had to stop it as soon as possible.
