Chapter 339:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Just as Stella tried her best to find an excuse, she had no idea that Violet was booking the earliest flight to X City. How could her best friend not come back to check on her beloved one admitted to the hospital? In that case, she would be an irresponsible friend.
When Violet got off the plane, she threw her luggage to the chauffeur who came to pick her up and commandeered the car before driving straight to the hospital.
Upon her arrival, Violet inquired with the nurse about Stella’s ward before heading in that direction, her eight-centimeter high heels clicking against the ground.
Right now, Stella was lying prone on the bed, struggling to exercise. From time to time, she would move her arms, legs, neck, or butt, managing every part of her body as long as her back was not involved. After a round, she would break out in a profuse sweat and start the second round after taking a brief rest.
Then, a figure barged through the door of the ward.
“Drumroll! What do you think? My dear, it’s a surprise, isn’t it?” As soon as Violet entered the ward, what met her sight was Stella seductively twisting her butt. Was the young lady… seducing her?
“Who is it? Can’t you see that I am…” Stella turned her head with great effort, rendered so shocked that her eyeballs nearly popped out of their sockets.
Was she…?
“Oh my god, why are you here? Did you fly back to check on me?”
This moved Stella to burst into tears. She threw herself forward to hug Violet’s waist, rubbing her face, full of snot and tears, onto her priceless dress.
“Alas… I came to check on you with good intentions. If you continue to act so obscene, I shall consider going back,” Violet said, pushing Stella’s face away.
“All right.” Stella casually wiped her greasy face. She had just devoured a delicious plate of pig trotters, but she hadn’t expected such a big surprise. “I am so pleased that you are here for me!”

“That’s right. I rushed to see you as soon as I got off the plane. I don’t even have time to visit my mom and dad.” Violet threw a tissue at Stella with disdain.
“Oh, I am so touched…” Tears welled up in Stella’s eyes. With her eyes brimming with tears, she looked at Violet. “I will call Adrian over. He will be very excited to see you.”
“How is that guy now? Has he found a new wife?”
It had been a long time. Back when she was abroad, Adrian had never stopped taking advantage of Violet. Kissing Violet on the cheek, he had announced his sovereignty, “This is my wife. I will back her up in the future.” From then on, Violet was officially declared Adrian’s wife.
Her two best friends—one was declared Adrian’s godmother by Adrian himself, while the other was forced into being Adrian’s wife. The little fellow gained quite some convenience because the two were his mother’s closest friends. No one knew where he learned it from.
“Hey, who is going to pick up Adrian from school if you are in the hospital? Is it the man of the family?” Violet, being more practical, was concerned about the family’s practical issues.
“The Kingston family has a chauffeur, so they picked him up just like that.”
“Where does Adrian live now? Who takes care of him?”
“Oh, I don’t have time to tell you that the bastard Rene Kingston robbed me of Adrian’s custody.”
“What? He doesn’t show any pity for you?” Violet looked at Stella in disbelief.
“Alas… It’s tough to explain. You should visit your parents first. I am afraid the two elders are anxiously awaiting your return.” Stella felt it was inappropriate to leave the elders waiting, so she decided that Violet should head home for the time being. “Let’s talk about it later.”
“Is your back okay? Can you move? I will come to check on you in the afternoon.”
“By the way, tell your husband that I will pick up Adrian this afternoon.”
With that, Violet left in a hurry. It seemed that she missed Adrian dearly since “absence makes the heart grow fonder” for couples… Yet, she wondered when the two had gotten married.
As soon as Violet returned and made a fuss, it nearly drove away Stella’s bad mood from the past two days. It was no wonder that ancient couples believed marriage could get rid of bad luck. It seemed that it actually worked.
A day ago, Stella had been thinking of confessing to RK… Yet, although so much time had passed, she failed to come up with a suitable excuse.
Sometimes, there were just some things… To be honest, it was tough to get the words out of her mouth. Stella was not great at expressing her emotions, plus she could barely manage to say anything in the face of RK’s expressionless face. Perhaps RK’s impression was deeply imprinted in her heart…
As early as six years ago, she had felt somewhat intimidated by him. Her first impression of him was as Sophia’s icy-cold boyfriend. She had always kept a respectful distance from him.
Later, they got married… He would not return home often, so she felt a little estranged from him. She was afraid he would do anything that crossed the line. Although she should have fulfilled her duty with the marriage certificate, they were not a real couple after all.
