Chapter 348:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Girl, do you know how to speak? Faced with such a handsome man like me, do you have the heart to say such hurtful words?” Carson looked like he was about to cry.
“Well, I’m used to looking at RK’s face, so I’m immune to everyone else.”
Stella’s words were like a sharp dagger, piercing Carson’s heart. This girl didn’t know how to hold a conversation. RK had no idea how protective she was of him; she was truly a good person.
“Hey, who is this? Stella, do you have a guest?” Aden’s voice cut through the awkward atmosphere just in time.
“I was wondering who it was. So it’s Young Master Aden.” Carson smiled brightly at the sight of Aden.
“If I hadn’t come, wouldn’t I have found you all wrinkled up?” Aden’s words were sharp and piercing. For someone like Carson, arguing with him was not wise.
“Aden, we haven’t seen each other for so many years. You’re still as stinky as before. Didn’t you brush your teeth before you went out today?”
“Of course! Can I see you after brushing my teeth?” Carson felt an urge to laugh at himself.
“Let’s go, Carson. We should head out and let Stella rest. She’s still a patient and needs to recuperate.” With that, Aden left the hospital with Carson.
The two arrived at the basketball court. “Carson, you were no match for me in school. How about now?” Carson was eager to accept Aden’s challenge.
“Alright, Aden. Back then, I didn’t know your true level. Now is the time for me to take a look. Otherwise, you wouldn’t even know what a crushing defeat feels like,” Carson said excitedly.
Aden looked at him confidently, as if to say, “I will win. Who am I afraid of?” The two began a fierce game of basketball, ending with a score of 2-1.
“What do you think? You’ve never admitted defeat before. Now you know how it feels,” Aden patted Carson’s shoulder with a smile.

To be honest, Aden noticed that Carson’s leg had been injured during the game. That pain hindered his movements; otherwise, he wouldn’t have lost with such a narrow score.
“Hmph, Aden, you’re nothing more than this. When I’m in top shape, I’ll beat you so badly you’ll wet yourself!” Carson was unwilling to admit defeat.
“Haha, that’s good.”
The two laughed, linking arms as they headed to eat together. They shared a bond, and their ability to laugh together without grudges spoke volumes.
During the meal, Carson mentioned something he shouldn’t have.
“Hey, Aden, why didn’t I see your little sister when I came back this time?” Aden’s expression changed.
“What’s wrong? Did something happen?” Carson asked.
“Alice… She… She’s dead!”
“What?” Carson felt unable to accept the fact. When he left, she was still a lively little girl. How could she be gone?
“Then why… What happened?”
“She jumped off a building and ended her life!” Aden’s revelation left Carson even more shocked. How could such a lovely girl take her own life by jumping off a building?
“I only found out about Alice’s real cause of death more than a month ago,” Aden slowly explained. “I always thought it was RK who killed her. It wasn’t until more than a month ago that I realized that wasn’t the case at all!”
“I used to think that Alice ended her life by jumping off the building after confessing to RK and being humiliated. To be honest, I didn’t know that she met a few hooligans when she went home that night. She was…”
“She couldn’t accept the reality. The next day, she chose to jump off the building. When RK found out, his first reaction was to hide this matter to preserve Alice’s dignity.”
“I’ve been misunderstanding him all this time.”
After hearing the truth, Carson felt a mess of emotions. In his mind, RK wasn’t as kind as he used to be. Wasn’t he always a cold, heartless person who only cared about profit? How could he be kind enough to protect a girl’s dignity? That was too unreasonable; it didn’t seem like him at all.
Carson felt helpless and confused, as if struck by lightning.
“Don’t be sad. Luckily, you hated RK for so many years. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to cope.”
