Chapter 518:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
As soon as RK got into bed, Stella seemed to sense the warmth of his body and immediately nestled into his arms. RK hugged Stella tightly, relieved to see that she had stopped shivering. The tension in his heart slowly dissipated.
After disembarking from the plane, RK had some matters to attend to. He felt a bit tired, but now that Stella was in his arms again, he felt a wave of relief wash over him. With Stella cradled in his embrace, RK gradually fell asleep.
Evan rushed over immediately. Upon entering RK’s bedroom, he felt as if he had stumbled upon something he shouldn’t have seen.
Stella opened her eyes in a daze and realized she was in RK’s arms. As she attempted to sit up, she noticed Evan standing in the doorway.
“Evan?” The warmth of RK’s embrace made Stella feel cozy.
Evan, who was about to turn and leave, heard Stella call for him.
“Sister-in-law, are you alright? RK just called me and said you were ill.”
Evan watched as Stella tried to sit up, causing the quilt to slide off her shoulder. He was startled and quickly turned away.
Seeing Evan turn around, Stella looked down and realized she was naked. Panic surged through her, and she quickly crawled back under the quilt. “Stella, you’re awake.”
Sensing Stella’s movement, RK woke up and noticed she was gazing at the person behind him. He turned around to see Evan’s back.
“Evan?” RK frowned, considering the implications of Stella’s position under the quilt.

RK lifted the blanket and stood up. After tucking Stella in, he walked over to Evan and patted him on the shoulder.
Evan felt RK’s hand and turned, smiling awkwardly.
RK gestured for Evan to step outside for a moment, and he obliged, leaving the room.
RK approached the wardrobe and found a thicker set of clothes for Stella. He went to the bedside and handed them to her.
Stella accepted the clothes and looked at RK expectantly.
RK noticed her gaze and said, “Put on your clothes. Why are you looking at me like that?”
Stella smiled and replied, “Are you going to stand here and watch me change?”
RK felt embarrassed at her words. He immediately turned around and exited the room. As soon as he stepped out, Stella quickly removed the blanket and began changing.
About ten minutes later, Stella finished changing, opened the door, and headed downstairs to the living room.
“Sister-in-law, Rene just told me you got drenched in the rain. I think you must have a fever. Here, take this medicine.” Evan said, handing her some pills and a glass of water.
Upon hearing Evan’s words, Stella glanced at RK before focusing on the tea table. She frowned at the pills for a moment but ultimately picked one up and swallowed it with a few gulps of water.
“Evan, thank you…” Stella smiled at him.
Evan shook his head. “You’re still not feeling well. Go back to bed and rest.”
RK observed Stella’s pale face. She nodded and turned to head upstairs.
“Rene, are you still with Sophia?” Evan asked RK, a frown crossing his face.
“It’s none of your business.”
“It’s still raining outside. Why don’t you stay here tonight?” RK said, turning to leave. He headed upstairs, leaving Evan to watch him go.
Stella didn’t rest when she returned to her bedroom. Instead, she stood by the window, watching the relentless rain outside.
The night was growing darker, and the room became too dim to see. Only the sound of rain hitting the window broke the silence…
When the lights suddenly turned on, Stella turned around, squinting her eyes to see RK entering the room.
“Go to sleep,” RK said, glancing at Stella, who was standing by the window.
After that, he walked into the bathroom. Stella returned to the bed and lay down.
After RK finished showering, he noticed Stella sleeping peacefully with her eyes closed. He watched her for a moment before turning off the bedroom lights and stepping out.
As soon as RK left, Stella opened her eyes. In the dark room, she stared at the closed door for a while before shutting her eyes and drifting off to sleep.
After all, she had just been drenched in rain and taken medicine for her fever. Feeling a bit unwell, she soon fell asleep…
The next day, Stella woke up in the morning, got ready, and headed downstairs to the dining room. She found RK sitting at the table, eating breakfast.
Stella had her breakfast, treating RK as if he didn’t exist.
“I’m going to the company. Rest at home today. I’ve already called your best friend and asked her to request leave for you,” RK said, observing Stella.
She didn’t respond but merely nodded, indicating she understood.
As Stella was about to head upstairs for some rest, she received a call from Sophia.
“Stella, I’m at Light Cafe. Want to grab a cup of coffee?”
After thinking for a moment, Stella agreed.
She returned to her room to change clothes and asked the Kingston family chauffeur to take her to Light Cafe.
Entering the cafe, Stella immediately spotted Sophia by the window.
“Tell me, what can I do for you?” Stella asked, sitting down and wanting to cut to the chase. She didn’t want too much interaction with Sophia.
“Do you know where Rene and I went this month?” Sophia asked, a proud look on her face, clearly eager for a reaction.
“Where you went has nothing to do with me,” Stella replied indifferently.
“If you don’t want to know, I’ll still tell you.” Sophia didn’t believe that Stella could remain so calm.
“Rene and I went abroad to vacation. I was feeling down, so Rene took me to France. France is incredibly romantic. If I hadn’t wanted to avoid interrupting Rene’s work, we would have traveled to other countries.”
Sophia was like a child boasting about a prize, eager to share her experiences. “Well, do you have anything else to say? If not, I’ll be on my way.”
In truth, Stella was not as composed as she appeared, but she didn’t want to show any emotion in front of Sophia.
Not wanting to waste any more time, Stella stood up and left.
Sophia watched Stella walk away, her hands clenching tightly under the table. Her nails dug into her flesh, but she felt nothing at all.
“Wait for me, Stella. One day, I’ll make you leave RK, crying!”
