Chapter 523:

The outcome, of course, was to retrieve the bag. RK wanted to know what was so important in Sophia’s bag.
“Phew, it’s not bad. It’s here.” Seeing Sophia take out an ordinary bracelet, RK couldn’t understand its significance.
“Thank you, handsome! This is my sister’s bracelet. You can’t lose it.”
The bracelet belonged to Stella, but it was also significant to Sophia. If it weren’t for the fact that Stella’s mother had given it to her, Sophia wouldn’t have cared about it.
With Stella’s bracelet, Sophia could manipulate her sister however she wanted, given how much Stella valued it.
“You’re welcome. Can I go now?” RK looked at the woman before him and found her intriguing.
“Ah, okay. Thank you.”
“My name is Sophia. May I know your name?” Sophia asked, glancing at the man and his bodyguard, sensing that he must be quite wealthy.
RK regarded the woman’s outstretched hand. After a moment’s hesitation, he reached out and shook it.
“I’m RK.” Sophia felt a flicker of familiarity when she heard RK’s name, but she couldn’t quite place it.
After they parted ways, RK left.
RK thought back to his encounter with Sophia and felt a strange sense of importance surrounding the bracelet that Stella had given her. How could Stella treat her sister this way?
RK exited Sophia’s room and returned to his own. He had been preoccupied with thoughts for so long. Having just soaked in the sea, he hadn’t taken a bath and felt grimy, so he headed into the bathroom.

When he came out, he noticed Stella sleeping soundly. He didn’t know how to approach the recent events and sensed that something must have happened between the sisters. RK climbed into bed beside her.
As soon as RK settled in, Stella seemed to sense his presence and burrowed into his arms.
RK looked down at the small woman nestled against him, finding it hard to believe that Stella would jump into the sea to force Sophia to leave him.
They were already married, so why did she still want Sophia out of the picture?
He had sent Sophia abroad, and they hadn’t seen each other in such a long time. Were they really going to hold grudges when reunited?
RK slowly drifted into sleep, confusion clouding his mind. In the middle of the night, he felt Stella’s body burning hot. He woke up without realizing it.
RK sat up and noticed that Stella was feverish. He quickly got up and called for the doctor.
He thought it strange that Stella would suddenly have a high fever in the middle of the night after being so unwell earlier.
When the doctor arrived, RK urged him to examine Stella. To his surprise, her fever had reached 39 degrees.
The doctor gave Stella a glass of water and advised RK to monitor her condition, saying if she didn’t improve by morning, he would take her to the hospital immediately.
RK was taken aback by the news of Stella’s high fever.
This woman was proving to be quite troublesome.
RK didn’t dare sleep that night. He wiped Stella’s body with a towel, trying to cool her down. When Stella awoke in the morning, she felt pain coursing through her body. Her right arm was so numb that when she tried to lift it, she couldn’t. She turned her head and discovered that RK was sleeping on her arm.
Looking at RK as he slept, Stella couldn’t believe he was taking care of her. Shouldn’t he be with Sophia?
RK opened his eyes and saw Stella staring at him. He released her hand, stood up, and touched her forehead, finding it cool now. “Get some rest. I’ll have someone bring you breakfast later.” With that, RK turned and walked into the bathroom.
Stella watched RK’s retreating figure, feeling that the emotions she had felt upon waking were all fabricated.
It was better to pretend than to make RK worry about her. Stella rubbed her head and lay back down.
When RK emerged from the bathroom, he found Stella lying in bed.
RK didn’t say a word. He changed his clothes and stepped out.
He remembered that Sophia had also had a fever the day before. He wondered how she was doing.
Hearing the door close, Stella opened her eyes.
Sophia had been sent out of the country by RK, and he had followed her there.
Stella still felt weak, so she didn’t go out to look for a job. Instead, she remained at home resting.
That day, Emily came to the RK Mansion to visit Stella. “Stella, are you okay?” Emily observed Stella’s pale face. Unsure of what to say, her heart ached for her friend.
“I’m fine,” Stella smiled at Emily, not wanting her to worry.
“It’s good that you’re fine. You can go back to work anytime. Just take care of yourself first, and then we can work together.”
“Madam, Miss Emily, lunch is ready.” Aunt Maya knocked on the door, inviting Stella and Emily to join her for lunch.
“Well, okay.”
“Let’s go…” Stella got up from the bed and headed downstairs with Emily.
In the dining room, as soon as Stella descended, she caught a whiff of something fishy. Seeing the fish on the table made her feel a bit nauseated. She covered her mouth and rushed to the bathroom.
Emily watched Stella’s reaction, confused about what was happening.
Aunt Maya, on the other hand, was quite perceptive. Noticing Stella’s expression, she suspected that Stella might be pregnant.
Aunt Maya called for someone to remove all the greasy dishes from the table.
When Stella emerged, Aunt Maya smiled warmly, her wrinkles creasing with joy. “Madam, you must be pregnant.”
Upon hearing Aunt Maya’s words, Stella instinctively touched her belly.
Stella couldn’t believe that she might be carrying RK’s child at a time like this…
“Stella, it can’t be. Are you really expecting?” Emily turned to Stella, disbelief etched across her face.
Stella didn’t respond immediately. She recalled her lack of appetite lately; the smell of certain foods often made her feel nauseous. She had thought it was simply a result of falling into the sea, leaving her body weak. The possibility of being pregnant had never crossed her mind.
“It shouldn’t be. I’ve been unwell lately, which is probably why I’m feeling like this.” Stella smiled at Emily and Aunt Maya, making her way to the dining table.
“I don’t care. You just vomited. Let’s go to the hospital later. Even if you aren’t pregnant, what if you are ill… We need to check it out.” Emily was very concerned about Stella’s health.
Before she started dating RK, Stella had always been in good health. Ever since they got together, she had been plagued by minor ailments.
