Chapter 524:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Stella looked at Emily and nodded with a smile. “Let’s eat first.”
After dinner, Stella and Emily went to the hospital together and received a B+. Stella glanced at the results in her hand and realized that she was pregnant. It had been three weeks—probably a few days before the yacht dinner.
At that time, she had fallen into the sea. Because the baby was still young, it hadn’t been harmed. Otherwise, the baby wouldn’t have survived.
“Stella, are you going to tell RK?” Emily asked, looking at her with concern.
“Let me think about it.” Stella’s eyes were vacant; no one knew what she was contemplating.
Emily nodded, aware that over the past two years, RK had been traveling abroad to see Sophia, showing little indifference toward Stella.
When Stella returned to the RK Mansion, Aunt Maya immediately approached her. “Stella, are you feeling alright?”
“Aunt Maya, I just have a little discomfort in my stomach. I feel nauseous when I see greasy food.”
Noticing Aunt Maya’s worried expression, Stella didn’t know how to respond. She hadn’t decided whether to tell RK about her condition, fearing that Aunt Maya would inform him. “Then go upstairs and rest,” Aunt Maya said, though disappointed. She remembered Stella was unwell and encouraged her to take care of herself.
“Yes,” Stella replied, heading upstairs.
Stella took the results from her bag and felt a rush of happiness at the thought of the baby in her belly. However, when she thought of RK, she worried he wouldn’t want her to keep the baby, so she hesitated to tell him.
“Mr. Kingston, you’re back,” Aunt Maya said, taking RK’s coat as she looked at him. She wasn’t sure if she should mention Stella’s situation.

“Well, Madam, how have you been recently?” RK asked.
“Madam, your appetite hasn’t been very good lately.”
“Okay… I understand. I’ll go see her.”
As soon as RK left, Stella opened her eyes.
She stared at the ceiling, thinking about RK’s hasty exit. Tears rolled down her cheeks.
On the deck, a man recalled what he had just witnessed… This felt like a drama: a man and two sisters.
Earlier, he had felt a bit tired at the banquet and wanted to relax on the deck, but he hadn’t expected to find this scene.
As he stepped onto the deck, he heard two women conversing. He almost turned away but glanced back at the unfolding drama.
One woman stood on the railing, dangerously poised to jump into the sea, while the other appeared frantic, attempting to persuade her not to.
He recognized both women as the daughters of the Richard family: the one threatening to jump was the eldest, while the other was the younger sister who had married into the Kingston family.
These two sisters were competing for the same man.
He intended to intervene; falling into the sea was no joke. But as soon as he took a step forward, things escalated unexpectedly.
The First Miss of the Richard family leaped down, abandoning her sister. After pushing the younger sister, she merely leaned against the railing with a smug grin.
Women could be so envious. For a man, they might even harm their own sisters.
He had assumed the older sister would simply watch her sibling drown, but to his surprise, she jumped in after her.
Then he heard someone yelling that someone had fallen into the sea.
When he heard calls for help, he wanted to leave, but then he saw RK emerge and leap into the water.
He paused, wanting to see what RK cared about.
Seeing RK rescue Stella, he initially thought RK was in love with his wife. He hadn’t expected RK to forsake her and embrace his sister-in-law when she fainted.
He observed the Second Miss waking up and climbing back onto the deck. As she passed him, he noted the coldness in her eyes, as if she were completely unfazed by the situation.
The Kingston and Richard families were certainly fascinating.
“Rene.” Sophia immediately sat up upon seeing RK enter.
“Sophia, are you okay?” RK sat beside her, touching her forehead and discovering it was quite warm.
“Yes, I’m fine,” Sophia said, meeting RK’s gaze.
“Sophia, what happened just now? How did you both fall into the sea?” RK’s voice trembled at the thought of the earlier chaos.
“Rene, can I not tell you?” Sophia looked at him, fear clouding her eyes.
RK frowned, studying her closely.
Seeing his serious expression, Sophia slowly began to explain.
“Just now, I went out when I realized it was late. I hadn’t seen Stella in a while, so I wanted to talk to her.”
“Who would have thought Stella would tell me to stay away from you and claim you were hers? I couldn’t say anything; after all, she is your wife.”
RK listened, noting the tears forming in Sophia’s eyes. He reached out to comfort her, unaware of the smug smile playing on her lips.
“And then she stood on the railing, threatening to jump if I didn’t leave you. I could only promise her I would.”
“When I tried to pull her back, she pushed me away. I thought it would be fine for me to fall; after all, I know how to swim. But before I could let go, she fell in with me.”
Feeling Sophia tremble, RK gently patted her back.
“Well, it’s alright.”
As he absorbed Sophia’s words, RK couldn’t help but frown. He hadn’t expected Stella, typically indifferent, to act so dramatically. While she usually presented herself with grace, he hadn’t realized the darkness beneath her surface. Had he known, he wouldn’t have brought her here.
“Sophia, once you recover, I will send you abroad. You can enjoy yourself there.”
Upon hearing RK’s plans to send her away again, Sophia pushed him away and crawled under the covers.
RK watched her retreat, feeling helpless. He lifted the blanket slightly and reached out to comfort her.
“Sophia, once I settle things here, I’ll divorce Stella, okay?” RK promised, reassuringly patting her back.
“Well, I’ll wait for you. I’ve been waiting for so long. I’m not afraid to wait a bit longer.”
RK coaxed Sophia until she fell asleep. He stepped out onto the balcony, recalling the moment they first met.
Back then, while abroad, RK had been busy when he noticed Sophia chasing after a thief, her high heels in hand. He had cursed her for her recklessness. At that time, RK had thought she was spoiled.
As he prepared to leave, Sophia had stopped him, pleading for his help to catch the thief, claiming there was something very important in her purse.
RK hadn’t wanted to engage with her and had tried to walk around, but Sophia stood firm in her request. RK had called his bodyguards to assist her, but he hadn’t expected her to be so self-absorbed.
“Oh, thank you! Thank you for sending such a strong man to help me.” Seeing Sophia again, RK had raised his eyebrows and instructed the bodyguards to help her retrieve her purse.
