Chapter 526:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Wayne, did you tell RK the truth?” Damien, who had rushed to Wayne’s company early in the morning, wanted to know the answer.
“Yes, I did. But it depends on how much RK believes me.” Wayne was the man who had called RK the night before. He had witnessed the incident with his own eyes.
“If RK isn’t blind, he should have seen through Sophia’s tricks.” Damien sank into the sofa in Wayne’s office, his thoughts drifting to Stella. “Alas… I remember that Stella was wronged, but I can’t fly to her immediately. It makes me uncomfortable.”
“It’s best if you don’t dwell on it. She’s married to RK, and he’s still your cousin.” Wayne observed Damien, whose sad and kind-hearted demeanor made him interrupt Damien’s thoughts.
“I know. If it weren’t for RK, I would have been with Stella.” As soon as Damien thought of it, anger surged within him at RK for taking his love away!
“Hey… Wayne, why do you think RK helped the Richard family and insisted on marrying Stella?” Damien looked up at Wayne, whose beauty made him appear more delicate than most men.
“Based on my guess… RK helped the Richard family because he suddenly found his conscience. Marrying Stella must have been a coincidence.” Wayne squinted at Damien as he shared his theory.
“What kind of guess is that? But why would it be a coincidence to marry Stella?” At that moment, Damien knew Stella was getting married but didn’t realize it was the Richard family that had pushed her into the spotlight.
“As far as I know, at that time, RK said he wanted to marry a daughter of the Richard family, but he didn’t specify which one. The eldest daughter was already engaged, so they pushed Stella forward…”
“Later, when the eldest daughter of the Richard family encountered RK, she realized he was her ex-boyfriend from abroad. But the decision had already been made. RK and Stella obtained their marriage certificate, and RK couldn’t divorce her immediately. After all, many respected individuals attended their wedding.”
“Then, the eldest daughter dumped her fiancé, James, to pursue RK.”
“But RK and Stella are already married. What about the eldest daughter of the Richard family?”

“Of course, she would use similar tactics to separate RK and Stella. Think about it: RK is very wealthy. The eldest daughter of the Richard family takes RK very seriously.” Wayne looked at Damien as he told this elaborate tale.
“Damn it, no way. So from the beginning, Stella has been just a victim.” Hearing Wayne’s words, Damien stood up abruptly. The thought of the Richard family infuriated him.
“Good… Brother, I’ll tell you one more thing. By the way, you should confront RK as well.” Wayne observed Damien’s reaction and secretly smiled to himself.
“What’s the matter? Did RK break up with Stella?” Damien looked at Wayne with frustration, feeling the urge to strangle him. “Family issues… I haven’t…”
“Someone from our country sent me a message saying that Stella is pregnant.” When Wayne saw Damien’s face turn from pale to dark, he felt that this news was too delightful.
“Stella is pregnant?” Damien recalled how thin Stella was and the idea of her carrying RK’s child made him uneasy.
“Yes, she’s pregnant. Five weeks.” Wayne held up his hand and gestured the number five.
“I want to book a ticket to return immediately.” Damien turned around, eager to leave Wayne’s office. He needed to fly back to the country right away. But before he could exit, Wayne stopped him.
“Wayne, what are you doing?”
Damien looked at Wayne, confused about his intentions. “If you go back, does it mean that Stella isn’t pregnant? Does it mean that you’ll be known as Stella’s cousin-in-law?” Hearing Wayne’s words, Damien paused, fell back onto the sofa, and sighed heavily.
“Wayne, tell me, what should I do?”
“Am I supposed to watch the woman I like and the child I’m going to have call me cousin?” Damien’s muffled voice reached Wayne’s ears.
“Then what can you do? Stella is your cousin-in-law, and that’s a fact you can’t change.” Wayne approached Damien, squatting down to ruffle his hair.
He hadn’t expected Damien to have such deep feelings for Stella.
“How do you know Stella? Can you tell me?” Wayne lowered his voice, curious about how Damien had become acquainted with her.
At Wayne’s prompting, Damien sat up and began to recall his first meeting with Stella…
Hearing boys in his class talk about the campus belle, Stella, Damien—who had just entered his first year of high school—became intrigued. He wanted to see what kind of woman could captivate a group of boys.
After class, Damien rushed to Stella’s classroom and spotted her immediately. He realized that Stella truly was the campus belle.
“The campus belle, Stella?” Seeing Stella exit the classroom, he hurriedly approached her.
“I’m Stella.”
Stella regarded the boy before her, initially assuming he was just another admirer. Bored, she began to turn away, but Damien blocked her path.
“Hey, what are you doing? Can’t you let me walk?” Emily, who stood beside Stella, interjected. Damien glanced at her, noting that she was also quite attractive.
“Get out of my way. I’m not talking to you.” Damien waved Emily away, urging her to step aside.
“Boy, I think you’re asking for trouble.” He hadn’t expected such a beautiful girl to have a fierce friend.
“Sister, I don’t want to cause any issues. I just want to be friends with Stella.” Damien extended his hand toward Stella, but she didn’t take it. Instead, Emily grasped Damien’s hand.
Upon realizing that his hand was being held by someone he didn’t know, Damien quickly yanked it free and ran away.
Stella and Emily exchanged amused glances and walked toward the restaurant.
From that day on, Damien regarded himself as a follower. He trailed behind Stella and Emily daily, making sure everyone knew that the campus belle had a handsome young man in her orbit. Yet, Stella remained indifferent to his presence.
To be honest, Damien initially just wanted to see if the rumors about Stella were true—that she didn’t like men and avoided boys altogether. Even the girls claimed she was cold and unapproachable.
In the beginning, Stella didn’t speak to Damien, but eventually, they grew familiar with each other, and she started to engage with him. Damien discovered that Stella wasn’t as cold as people suggested; she simply struggled with social interactions.
If she were truly as aloof as everyone claimed, she wouldn’t have formed such a strong bond with Emily.
On the contrary, Damien found Stella to be kind and warm-hearted.
Damien had never been an excellent student, but since he began following Stella, he gradually improved academically. Even when he struggled, Stella would help him with his studies. Although Emily often teased him, he knew it was all in good fun.
Slowly…
For reasons he couldn’t quite pinpoint, Damien fell in love with Stella.
He was aware that Stella knew about his feelings, yet she never deliberately ignored him. Instead, she was always kind and considerate.
