Chapter 544:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
When Stella heard Evan’s question, she guessed why he had asked her out. She nodded, but her expression indicated that she didn’t want to talk about RK. Seeing her expression, Evan knew that Stella couldn’t forgive him.
“Evan, I haven’t seen you for a long time. How are you doing now?” Stella felt the awkwardness between them, so she decided to break the silence first.
“It’s okay, just the same, hey, hey.” Hearing Stella’s question, Evan came back to his senses and answered her.
Perhaps it was because they hadn’t seen each other for a long time or due to their connection with RK, they found it difficult to know what to discuss. When the coffee was finished, Stella got up to leave, but they remained silent.
Just as Stella was about to leave, Evan spoke up. “Rene is sick. That day, he got soaked and went home. He had a high fever. He was going to be fine, but he developed a fever after returning last night.”
Evan felt it was better to inform Stella about RK’s condition. After all, RK was sick because of her, and he had never had a good time since then.
“He is sick? As a doctor, you should be able to cure him. What’s the use of telling me?” Stella said, leaving without looking back.
Evan sat there in a daze, recalling what Stella had just said. He wanted to tell her that RK was worried about her. If she didn’t return, how could he get better?
“Alas… I don’t want to get involved with them anymore. I won’t worry about them any longer. Whoever made a mistake can make amends. Whether they can reconcile is RK’s business. I hope Stella turns out to be with RK.”
Evan stood up, paid the bill, and walked out of the café.
Stella was walking aimlessly, thinking of what Evan had just said. She remembered how RK had felt unusually hot the previous day. So, he really did have a fever.

Stella shook her head, reminding herself not to think about RK anymore.
Since she was planning to find a job, she lost her motivation and instead decided to look for a school for Adrian.
Tristan promised Adrian that he would take him out to play, as Adrian had been eager for a sugar-coated outing. To be honest, it wasn’t a big deal to take Adrian out to play, but he felt it was unsafe to do so right now, so Tristan had hesitated.
However, seeing that Adrian had been cooped up, he decided to compromise.
Stella found several schools and finally decided on one close to home. After all, it would be more convenient for her to pick Adrian up from school in the future.
Stella wandered the streets after finding a school. What she didn’t notice was that a car behind her had slowed down as she stopped to walk.
RK managed to sneak out while Aunt Maya was busy. Although he could come out openly, he didn’t want to worry Aunt Maya. However, he desperately wanted to see Stella, so he had to sneak away.
RK followed behind Stella. Looking at her back, he reflected on how he had hurt her with his disdainful eyes time and again, and he felt incredibly foolish.
Suddenly, a phone rang. RK glanced at it but didn’t want to answer. However, the caller persisted, so he reluctantly picked it up, still feeling a little guilty towards Kaylee.
“Rene, why didn’t I see you at the RK Mansion? You’re still sick. Why did you go out again? Aunt Maya is very worried.” Kaylee’s voice was quick and anxious as she spoke upon connection, fearing RK would hang up.
Kaylee recalled how RK had doted on her, but now she felt he was indifferent. He hadn’t even mentioned when they were going to hold a wedding.
“I will be back soon. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up.” RK wasn’t in the mood to chat with Kaylee, so he ended the call.
Kaylee was left staring at her phone in disbelief; she had been cut off before she could say anything. Her smile, which had been maintained for so long, collapsed at once. It must be that bitch Stella again!
Thinking of Stella made Kaylee furious. She considered leaving RK’s mansion but decided against it. Instead, she walked over to the sofa and sat down, choosing to wait for RK to return.
Aunt Maya glanced at the unhappy Kaylee but didn’t dare speak. She brought Kaylee a glass of juice and some snacks before returning to her tasks.
RK drove behind Stella, watching her slowly ascend the stairs. He opened the car door and stepped out, leaning against the car to look at her house.
To be honest, Stella sensed RK following her but chose to ignore him. If he liked it, he could follow her; she wouldn’t lose anything.
Through the window, she noticed RK standing downstairs. Then, she turned around and headed back to her room. Stella lay on the bed and slowly fell asleep.
