Chapter 623:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
After Ruben went upstairs with the porridge, he found Emily still asleep. After thinking for a while, he decided it would be better to wake her up.
“Wake up, Emily. Have some porridge and then go back to sleep.” Ruben gently patted Emily’s arm.
Emily woke up in a daze. When she saw Ruben, she recalled what had happened that morning and immediately pulled the blanket over her head.
Ruben looked at Emily’s actions and smiled. Was he that scary? He pulled the quilt off her head and waved the porridge in front of her nose.
“It smells so good!” was Emily’s first thought.
Then her pretentiousness and shyness were immediately forgotten as she sat up without Ruben’s help.
Emily looked at her clothes and was relieved that Ruben had helped her put them on. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to sit up even if she had starved to death.
Ruben noticed the conflicted look on Emily’s face and smiled. Then, he picked up the porridge and blew on it gently. After thinking that it shouldn’t be too hot, Ruben placed the spoon to Emily’s mouth and waited for her to open it.
“Ruben, you don’t need to do this. I can eat by myself.” Emily looked at him awkwardly and smiled.
However, Ruben acted as if he didn’t hear her and still raised the spoon in front of her mouth.
Looking at Ruben’s persistence, Emily had no choice but to open her mouth and take the porridge from the spoon. “How is it? How does it taste?” Ruben watched her carefully, afraid that she might say it wasn’t tasty.
“It’s delicious!” Emily smiled and said to Ruben. She didn’t lie; it was very delicious.
It didn’t take long for a bowl of porridge to be finished. Emily still wanted more, so she looked at Ruben pitifully.
“Be good. We will have lunch in a while. If you eat too much now, you won’t be able to eat lunch. If you like it, I will make it for you every day.” Ruben put down the bowl and reached out to touch Emily’s hair.

Emily was stunned. She hadn’t expected it to be made by Ruben himself. She thought it had been prepared by a chef or an aunt at home.
“You know how to cook?” Emily asked subconsciously. She didn’t believe that Ruben could cook. She had always thought he didn’t know how to cook at all; she couldn’t imagine how he would manage it.
“Yes, but I only make porridge well. The taste of my other dishes is just okay,” Ruben admitted. He was the only one who cooked at home, but he had not been learning for long and was still getting the hang of it.
Emily believed him, which meant she accepted it.
Emily had never thought she could be so calm as to chat with Ruben. They had always bickered, and after Ruben confessed to her, Emily had been avoiding him. She had never imagined that she would be able to chat with him so comfortably.
RK and Stella took Adrian out of Edward’s villa. Although they lived in Edward’s place, he wouldn’t say anything, but it still felt wrong to be in someone else’s house.
“Thank you.” Stella pushed open the door and stepped out. After thanking him, she took Adrian’s hand and went upstairs.
RK sat in the car, feeling uncomfortable at the thought of Stella’s distant demeanor just now. “She was fine before, but why did she suddenly change?”
After Stella took Adrian back home, she returned to the bedroom and lay on the bed.
She didn’t know why, but she felt compelled to stay away from RK subconsciously. She decided to think about it later; for now, she just wanted to rest well because she hadn’t slept properly the previous night.
“Ruben, where are you going?” Emily noticed that Ruben was not driving back in the direction of the house at all.
“Let’s go to the RK Mansion!” Ruben turned to Emily with a playful smile.
“No, I am not going with you.” Emily looked at him coldly. She knew that Ruben wouldn’t be good for long.
“But there is no one there to take care of you. I can take care of you at the RK Mansion,” Ruben looked at Emily pitifully, as if he was about to cry.
“Just send me home.” After saying this, Emily turned her head away from him and looked out of the window. Seeing that Emily was angry, Ruben could only sigh and change the direction of the car to take her home. As soon as they arrived at the door, Emily got out of the car without saying anything to him.
“Hey, Emily.” Ruben immediately opened the car door and got out, grabbing her arm.
“What’s the matter?” Emily looked at Ruben coldly, unsure how to face him after everything that had happened.
Looking at her, Ruben was about to explode with frustration. He pulled Emily into his arms, wrapped an arm around her waist, and kissed her.
Emily’s face, which had been pale, turned red.
“Emily, why don’t you come with me to the RK Mansion?” Ruben’s hoarse voice reached Emily’s ears.
Emily pushed him away and immediately ran off.
