Chapter 772:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Norene just sneered.
“I did have feelings for him at first,” she said, “but after marrying him, I realized he was nothing special. His mother is unbearable. I really admire Gracie for putting up with her all these years. Joseph, the one I love is you, without question.”
Joseph, overcome with emotion, grabbed her shoulders. “Norene, you’re wrong. You’re completely wrong.”
Norene shoved Joseph’s hand off.
“I only want a better life for our son. What’s so wrong with that? Joseph, what’s gotten into you? Why are you defending Gracie, that horrible woman?”
As soon as she finished speaking, the lights in the lounge suddenly flicked on. Norene, startled, looked at the three people in the room. She took a step back, her eyes filled with shock.
“Lorenzo?”
Besides Lorenzo, Gracie and Zaria were in the lounge too. Norene’s mind went completely blank. When had they arrived?
Had they heard everything she and Joseph had talked about?
Filled with panic, Norene turned her gaze to Lorenzo.
“Lorenzo, Zaria, when did you get here?”
Lorenzo’s face drained of color.

Zaria gave Norene a sharp look, then turned to Lorenzo.
“Lorenzo, I’ve always told you, this woman isn’t worth your time. You didn’t listen. Now that you’ve seen it for yourself, do you believe me? Even Gavin is clearly Norene’s son with her lover.”
When Zaria saw Lorenzo’s face shift from angry to pale, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sympathy.
But she also knew that it was better to face the truth head-on. The quicker Lorenzo found out, the less it would hurt in the long run.
Lorenzo moved closer and grabbed Norene’s wrist. “Norene, why did you do this?” he asked.
Lorenzo’s eyes were red as he fixed his gaze on Norene.
He hadn’t ever thought that the woman he had spent his life with could have been lying to him for so long.
From the beginning, he had always believed Norene to be a kind, gentle, and considerate woman. Even when he was dissatisfied with some of her actions, he could understand them and didn’t mind. After all, raising Gavin by herself had been tough.
But today, he finally saw Norene’s true nature, and the stranger she had become terrified him.
“How long has this been going on between you two?” Lorenzo fought to control his rising anger. “Is Gavin his son? You left me for him, didn’t you?”
With every question he asked, Norene’s complexion grew even more drained.
