Chapter 1065:.
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Nora returned after the phone call and found the atmosphere around Morris and Brenda a little strange.
However, she didn’t dwell on it too much. Instead, she said to Brenda, “Let’s go.”
“Okay.”
Brenda followed Nora. After getting into the car, they went back to the villa.
Justin was still using his phone on the couch as he waited for them.
As for Solo, he was busy with the device. After disassembling the box, he had replaced its components with the best available and was currently installing them. Noticing the presence of the two ladies, both men looked their way.
Solo looked at Brenda with a scorching look in his eyes, while Justin gave Nora a soft smile.
Not only was the man smiling more often these days, he was becoming more and more charismatic.
Nora averted her gaze upstairs and said, “I’ll go see Marcus’ mother.”
“Okay.”
Upstairs, Lily and a psychologist were checking on Marcus’ mother.
The woman, who had come to, screamed, “Get away from me! Marcus, help! Save me!”
When Nora came in, Marcus’ mother looked at her in panic. “Who are you, what are you trying to do to me, where’s my daughter-in-law? Brenda, save me.”
Nora looked down and said, “Why don’t you drop the act.”

Marcus’ mother paused. A brief moment later, however, she continued to shout. “Marcus! Where’s Marcus! Brenda! Help!”
Next to her, Lily said, “This is Anti, the renowned surgeon and cornerstone of the Alternative Medicine Association. Identifying medical symptoms is as easy as ABC for her. Faking illness is meaningless in front of her, Mrs. Robinson.”
Mrs. Robinson was Marcus’ mother.
Lily had avoided referring to her as Marcus’ mother, as she felt the term of address would sadden her even more.
When Mrs. Robinson heard what Lily said, she finally calmed down.
Nora looked at her and said, “I know this is difficult for you, but those who have already passed away would not want you to torment those who are still alive.”
Mrs. Robinson immediately cried out, “Why?”
Tears slid down her cheeks as she cried, “Why should she be allowed to marry another man when my son is dead! My son loves her! He died trying to save her.”
However, Nora replied, “No, your son died because he was trying to catch a fugitive. Helping and protecting your companion is part of your duty! Even if the person in danger had not been Brenda, your superior would have been obligated to risk his life to save her. That’s what it means to be teammates.”
Mrs. Robinson bit her lip and remained silent.
She lowered her head and said, “But I can’t accept this…I can’t…”
In the middle of the conversation, Mrs. Robinson suddenly looked up to see Brenda in the doorway.
Seeing her, she immediately ducked her head in guilt.
She had thought Brenda would be furious and upset, but unexpectedly, she stepped into the room and looked at her instead. However, before Brenda could speak….
Thud!
Solo entered the room and got down on his knees in front of Mrs. Robinson.
Everyone present was stunned.
Solo said, “I am an orphan who has no parents. If it’s all right with you, I can take care of you as your son in the future, will you accept me?”.
His eyes reddened and he added, “I will treat you like Marcus did! I will take care of you for the rest of your life.”
He sighed and said, “Brenda is not the main cause of Marcus’ death; I am. If you have to torment someone, please do it with me. She didn’t do anything wrong.”
Brenda clenched her jaw and her eyes reddened.
Mrs. Robinson glared at Solo. Suddenly, she too fell to her knees and started hitting him.
“You killed my son! You killed him! Why is my son dead when all of you are still alive! Sob…”
But as she continued to beat him, she suddenly put her arms around him and said, “Good, I want you to be my son from now on! You have to take care of all my needs and desires for the rest of your life. I’m going to torment you from now on…. And you!”
He looked at Brenda and said, “I want you to be my daughter-in-law and take care of me every day!”.
Using the most vicious tone possible, the woman uttered the kindest words in the world.
Tears rolled down Brenda’s cheeks and she understood what she meant, once again.
She nodded her head and said, “Okay, I get it, Mom!”.
Solo also nodded with Brenda and said, “It’s okay, Mom!”.
