Chapter 1046:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Back then, my grandmother asked whether my first time was with you. Most men are too proud to admit they have no experience, so I told her it wasn’t,” Andrew said, his eyes on Cathryn.
Cathryn’s brow furrowed. She found it difficult to believe that a man as handsome as Andrew had never had a woman pursue him.
“When I was living abroad, Cara was actively trying to have me killed — she even hired people to do it,” Andrew continued. “I was fighting to stay alive every day. I didn’t have time for anything else.”
Cathryn’s voice dropped. “But you were in your twenties. Men have… needs. Didn’t you ever find someone just to take care of that?”
Andrew exhaled slowly. “Cathryn, do you honestly think I would sleep with just anyone? If I ever choose to be with a woman, it comes with commitment.”
Cathryn looked down, turning this over quietly. She knew he was that kind of man. Even in the early days of their marriage, before either of them had feelings for the other, he had honored his responsibilities as a husband. And in bed — the moment she showed any sign of discomfort, he had always stopped, immediately and without complaint. If he had been driven purely by desire, he would have ignored her feelings entirely. He never had.
“That night at the Olekgan Hotel was the first time for both of us,” Andrew said plainly.

Cathryn remembered it. She now understood why her body had ached for days afterward. Andrew had been inexperienced then — though he had grown remarkably capable since. She had always assumed that proficiency came from practice. She realized now she had been wrong; he was simply a quick learner.
“From now on, if you’re ever unsure about something, just ask me,” Andrew said. “I won’t hide anything from you.”
Cathryn was quiet for a moment. Then she asked the question that had been sitting at the center of everything. “What actually happened that night with Kyla?”
She already knew he had been drugged. But she needed to hear every detail from him.
The energy drained from Andrew’s face the moment the words left her lips. He looked hollowed out.
“That night, Kyla supposedly walked into the wrong room by mistake. She saw me drinking with some agents and offered to help finish the wine. She got completely drunk after just one bottle. I couldn’t leave her there with those men, so I drove her to Azure Vista to get her settled.” He paused. “Normally, I can hold my drink well. But I went under fast that night. And in my mind…” He stopped again. “I thought she was you.”
His voice had gone very quiet by the end. Every time he revisited that night, it felt as though something inside him was being torn open. He would have given anything to go back and stop it. But the truth remained — he had slept with Kyla, and she was carrying his child.
