Chapter 1070:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Andrew’s head snapped up. “She fainted at the hospital? When?”
Margaret gave him a pointed look. “The day you brought Kyla back from the hospital to Brooks Manor.”
The realization hit him slowly. That day, he had gone to the hospital intending to force Kyla to terminate the pregnancy, only to find that Cathryn had secretly accompanied Kyla to a prenatal appointment. Furious and cornered by his own words, he had provoked Cathryn and walked out with Kyla. He had never known — had never once thought to look back — that Cathryn had collapsed the moment he left.
He hadn’t known any of it.
The operating room doors swung open, and a doctor stepped out.
Andrew moved forward immediately. “Is my wife alright?”
The doctor’s expression was grave. “We are still doing everything we can to save her, but unfortunately, we were unable to save the baby.”
Andrew stared at him. “What did you say? A baby? What baby?”

The doctor looked uncertain. “Your wife has been pregnant for two months. You didn’t know?”
Andrew’s eyes widened. Cathryn wasn’t supposed to be able to conceive. How could she be pregnant?
He turned to Margaret.
Margaret shook her head, her own shock evident. “Neither Mrs. Brooks nor I knew.”
The doctor’s tone was firm. “You were far too careless with her health. Fortunately, she was brought in quickly — otherwise, she might have lost her uterus as well.”
Margaret frowned. “But just a few days ago, Mrs. Brooks had a blood test. It didn’t indicate any pregnancy.”
Andrew’s expression hardened. “Bring me the test report.”
The hospital director stepped away and returned quickly, holding the results. He studied them, then looked up.
“The blood test confirms it,” the director said. “Mrs. Brooks is indeed pregnant.”
Andrew stared at the document. The single word “Positive” left no room for doubt — Cathryn was carrying his child.
His fingers tightened around the sheet until his knuckles went white. Cathryn had been pregnant, and he had known nothing about it.
“That can’t be right!” Margaret cried out. She pulled the document from Andrew’s hands and scanned it, shaking her head in disbelief. “No — the report I received before didn’t say this.”
Andrew’s expression hardened immediately.
Margaret began searching through her pockets, remembering she had tucked the earlier report away without much thought. “Here,” she said, drawing out a sheet folded into a small square and handing it to Andrew.
He studied it. The pregnancy result read “Negative.” With a grim expression, he passed both documents to the hospital director. “Explain this.”
The director placed the two reports side by side. Every detail matched — except for that single result. One negative, one positive.
“The positive report came directly from the hospital system,” the director said. “It cannot be fabricated. The negative one is the forgery.”
Andrew’s voice turned cold. “How does Olekgan Hospital end up issuing two completely contradictory reports?”
The director shifted uncomfortably. “I will look into it immediately.” He turned to an assistant. “Bring Dr. Dobson here.”
