Chapter 299:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Seeing the boutique and the wedding dresses in the window, Gloria wisely paused at the entrance. “Miss Evans, since Mr. Watson is inside, I’ll wait here and give you some privacy.”
Khloe looked at Gloria and said, “You’ve gotten really mischievous, Gloria.”
A rare smile crossed Gloria’s usually serious face. “You two took a helicopter ride yesterday to celebrate. The pilot, Cody Brooks, is a friend of mine. I can’t face Mr. Watson’s glare. Please understand, Miss Evans.”
Thinking back on yesterday, Khloe couldn’t help but blush a little, though she kept a calm expression. “Keep it a secret, or you’ll be stuck eating a mountain of cake.”
Gloria trembled at the thought; she hated sweets. “Got it!”
“I promise I won’t let the secret slip, and I’ll make sure Cody stays quiet too!”
Confident that Gloria would keep quiet, Khloe pushed the door open. A gentle jingle from the wind chimes overhead greeted her as she stepped inside.
As soon as she walked in, her eyes landed on Henrik, and the sight before her held her spellbound.
Henrik stood surrounded by a vast expanse of flowers. He had a tall, elegant build, dressed in a white suit that highlighted his broad shoulders and long legs with flawless precision.
When he heard the sound, he turned to look at her. His deep eyes, like a mysterious night sky, carried a subtle warmth that made them even more captivating. Bright flowers—fresh lilies, graceful daisies, and others—surrounded him.
Sunlight poured through the tall, floor-to-ceiling windows, bathing him in a warm, golden light that seemed to wrap around him like a heavenly cloak. He looked like someone straight out of a masterpiece.
“Come here,” Henrik said, offering his hand with an inviting gesture. His voice carried a soft, almost otherworldly echo through the large hall.
Drawn to such a perfect, almost godlike man, Khloe couldn’t resist walking over and placing her hand in Henrik’s.

As soon as he touched her hand, Henrik gripped her fingers a little tighter and chuckled. “Gotcha.”
Khloe’s heart fluttered unexpectedly as a wave of emotions washed over her while she looked at Henrik.
In his eyes, she saw her own reflection, surrounded by a tender warmth that seemed to envelop her. It made her feel as though she might melt under his gentle gaze. Clearing her throat softly to mask her emotions, she asked, “So, did you ask me to come here to talk about the dress?”
Henrik didn’t seem the least bit fazed by her attempt to shift the conversation. Smiling, he played along. “Yes, the shop owner was a friend of my mother’s. The dresses here are extraordinary, and I thought you might appreciate them.”
Still holding her hand, he gestured around the shop. “What do you think? The decor was designed by my mother.”
Following his lead, Khloe let her gaze wander, taking in the intricate details of the boutique for the first time. It looked like something out of a fairy tale, with walls adorned in delicate floral patterns, their colors vivid yet soothing, blending seamlessly with the enchanting sea of flowers scattered throughout the space.
Suddenly, everything clicked. “Ah, no wonder! This dreamy, romantic atmosphere—it’s so similar to the style of the art gallery.”
Turning back to Henrik, her voice was filled with genuine admiration. “Your mother had such an incredible gift.”
Henrik nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. “She really did. Now, come on, I’ll introduce you to the shop owner.”
Khloe gave a slight nod, allowing Henrik to lead her deeper into the shop. The farther they ventured, the more enchanting it became, with a fence woven entirely from real vines, making the space feel like an entirely different realm.
