Chapter 400:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Khloe gave a slight nod, her expression steady and composed, completely unfazed by Barth’s ultimatum. Without a word, she retrieved her phone from her pocket, her nimble fingers gliding over the screen with practiced ease before meeting Barth’s gaze.
“The current gold price is 406.91 dollars per ounce. In five minutes, it will rise to 407.24 dollars,” Khloe announced, her voice unwavering.
The crowd fell silent, stunned by her audacity. She hadn’t just made a prediction—she had given a figure down to two decimal places, as if she controlled the global gold market herself.
Barth nodded in acknowledgment before stepping forward and connecting his phone to the classroom’s projector, bringing up a live feed of real-time gold price fluctuations for everyone to see.
“Let’s wait five minutes to see the results.”
As the seconds crawled by, all eyes remained glued to the screen, tracking every fluctuation in the gold price. The tension was suffocating, the room so silent that the faint sound of rapid breaths filled the air.
Polly, Dunham, and Madeline—each of whom had clashed with Khloe before—kept their stares locked on the numbers, silently willing them to defy her prediction.
Yet, as the minutes passed, the numbers on the screen inched closer and closer to the exact figure Khloe had boldly announced.
Five minutes later, Barth’s alarm shattered the tense silence with a sharp ring, and the screen updated with the latest gold price.
407 dollars.
Only two decimal points off from Khloe’s exact prediction.

Did this mean she had failed?
The classroom erupted into chaos within moments, the once quiet atmosphere giving way to loud voices and animated gestures from every corner.
Polly’s cheeks flushed bright red with excitement as she leaped out of her chair, her finger jabbing in Khloe’s direction. “I knew it all along! Did she seriously believe she could predict the gold price? Acting like some sort of fortune-teller! And now? She’s been proven wrong. Let’s see if she still has that smug attitude now.”
Her laughter rang out, sharp and triumphant, as though her pent-up frustration had finally found release.
Dunham couldn’t resist adding to the ridicule. He banged his hand on the desk, his expression brimming with disdain. “Hah, I really thought she was someone special, but she’s nothing more than a loudmouth. Now we’re seeing her for who she really is.”
The rest of the elite class quickly joined in, their murmurs filled with mockery and scorn.
“I always thought she was full of herself. Now everyone can see the truth.”
“Yeah, why would she brag like that when she clearly doesn’t know her limits?”
“At last, we’ve got the perfect excuse to drive her out!”
“Honestly, this is beyond embarrassing for her! How does she even plan to face anyone at Zhecrora University after something like this?”
The elderly professor furrowed his brow as he glanced at Khloe, letting out a weary sigh. Though he had found her overconfident before, her failure didn’t bring him any satisfaction. He shook his head slightly.
Barth’s eyes remained fixed on the screen, his emotions twisting in a way he couldn’t quite untangle. Deep down, he had clung to a faint hope that Khloe might pull through, but the outcome left him bitterly disappointed.
Turning to look at her, he expected to see defeat in her expression—perhaps tears, maybe even desperation.
Instead, she stood firm, silent, her composure almost unsettling in its steadiness.
