Chapter 470:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Time would mean involving over a dozen people in relevant trials daily, which was nearly impossible in the normal pharmaceutical research and development process. Aside from the difficulty in recruiting volunteers, the preparation, execution, and subsequent follow-up evaluation of the trials would require a professional team, substantial funds, and a long time, making it absolutely impossible to achieve.
Moreover, Conroy had already investigated Khloe. She had spent three years in prison and had no team capable of doing such research.
So, he was convinced Khloe was just bluffing, and it was likely under Henrik’s direction. Khloe and Henrik wanted to use such an exaggerated claim to confuse the crowd and intimidate him. If he hesitated or showed fear of allowing Khloe to reveal the data, Henrik’s men would certainly launch a collective attack against him.
Conroy’s notions seemed reasonable. However, Khloe had already seen through his thoughts.
The only thing Conroy didn’t expect was that Khloe wasn’t just playing the role of a pawn in Henrik’s game to attract his attention. She was the mastermind, the one who had orchestrated this entire confrontation.
The reason Khloe had the data was because she was the one who discovered the K Agent. It was Khloe who, during her time in Ouiswell, published the original research result under a different name, leading to the K Agent’s direct inclusion in the pharmaceutical system of Ouiswell.
In fact, the actual trial data in Khloe’s hands wasn’t just about ten thousand but a full one hundred thousand.
Khloe’s expression remained resolute as she met Conroy’s gaze. “Mr. Dayton, the data won’t lie. Whether it’s true or not, we will know after showing it. Why are you so eager to convict me? Do you feel guilty?”
Conroy’s face twisted with fury, veins throbbing on his forehead as he pointed a trembling finger at Khloe, his voice dripping with venom. “You’re really something, aren’t you? Go ahead, release the data, but if there’s any falsification, you’ll end up behind bars.”
His stare was as cold and lethal as a predator eyeing its prey. The others tensed, certain that Khloe would back down in fear.

Yet, Khloe remained unfazed by Conroy’s outburst and stepped forward to plug her USB drive into the projector. Her calmness stunned the crowd into silence. After all, if Khloe wasn’t intimidated by Henrik, a feared underworld leader, why would she be afraid of Conroy, the Mayor?
She continued to operate the computer with ease, bringing up the detailed trial data for the K Agent on the large screen. The data was complex, packed with charts and analysis that overwhelmed the crowd.
Witnessing this, Conroy shot Richard, who was seated nearby, a sharp glance. Richard sighed deeply. After seeing Khloe’s extraordinary surgical skills earlier, he couldn’t help but respect her abilities.
Moving closer to review the data, Richard whispered to Khloe, “Mr. Dayton is not someone you want to cross. I suggest you apologize now. I’ll back you up to help you avoid jail.”
Khloe shook her head, her eyes unyielding. “Mr. Smith, I appreciate your concern, but I’ve done nothing wrong. There’s no reason to apologize. These data are authentic and will stand up to any scrutiny.”
Richard let out another sigh before focusing on the data displayed on the screen. As he analyzed it, his expression turned more serious.
The hall was eerily quiet, with everyone on edge and their eyes glued to Richard as he moved. Conroy stood with his arms crossed, a wicked grin playing on his face, his eyes cold and calculating, like a snake preparing to attack as he watched Khloe. The moment Richard announced the data was fake, Conroy intended to have Khloe arrested on the spot. He even thought about setting up a car accident while she was on her way to the station, planning to hurt her and take out his frustration on her.
By then, even Henrik wouldn’t be able to save her. She was as good as doomed. Richard combed through the data, then looked up at Conroy, his voice steady but firm. “Mr. Dayton, this data is real!”
“This is fake, right? Guards…” Conroy began to command Khloe’s arrest but stopped mid-sentence, his sinister smile faltering. “What did you just say? It’s real? You must be mistaken!” His voice boomed in fury.
