Chapter 1764:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Hamilton nodded so fast it looked painful. “We’re staying put.”
Nikolas squeezed his eyes shut, swallowing his pride. “Carol.”
Without turning, Carol put another snake in the basket. “Yeah?”
There was no pretending in a moment like this. Voice unsteady, Nikolas admitted, “Honestly, I’m terrified.”
Hamilton’s tone quivered as he hurled a curse at Nikolas, saying, “Useless!”
Right after the phrase escaped his lips, a snake glided closer from afar.
Hamilton felt a shiver crawl along his spine.
He shut his eyes in panic and yelled, “Daniela!”
Daniela approached and grabbed the snake barehanded, setting it inside the basket.
Hamilton released a deep breath of relief, thinking he might collapse.
Daniela looked at Carol and said, “Come this way and shield these two dead weights. I’ll handle the snakes. You’re too slow.”
Grudgingly, Carol moved in front of Nikolas and Hamilton to guard them.
Nikolas gripped Carol’s sleeve and murmured, “Aren’t you afraid? That thing’s horrifying. It’s venomous. One nip and you’re gone.”
Carol laughed. “Believe me, I’m scarier than that snake!”
Nikolas tightened his hold on Carol’s sleeve. “I know, but I still want to marry you.”
Hamilton ignored Nikolas completely. His gaze stayed glued to Daniela, worried that something might happen.
But Daniela was sharp and unshaken. Even pregnant, she moved with stunning agility.
Five minutes later, the snakes inside the house were trapped, dropped into a basket, and handed over to the firefighters.

The firefighters gave Daniela several stunned glances as they removed the snakes. “Pregnant women nowadays are unbelievable—catching snakes barehanded?”
When they were gone, Daniela dropped onto the sofa, laughing. “It’s been forever since I had this level of excitement!” she said to Carol.
Carol was just about to speak when Hamilton, still shaking, came forward. “Excitement? That’s what you call it? This could’ve killed you! Did you plant the snakes?”
Daniela straightened up. “No, Josh did.”
Hamilton narrowed his eyes and instantly turned to place a phone call. Standing at the mansion’s entrance, he spoke into the phone. “I’m proposing ten million. I want Josh eliminated!”
Harming a pregnant woman was something he couldn’t forgive.
Nobody noticed the man hidden beneath a tree near Daniela’s residence. He couldn’t hear their conversation, but his stare was like a cobra’s—cold and quietly watching Daniela’s home. Inside the living room, Daniela got a call.
“Hamilton just placed a ten-million bounty on Josh’s life.”
Daniela glanced in surprise toward the entrance, where Hamilton stood, hands on his hips, speaking in a quiet tone.
The caller asked, “Should we take the assignment?”
Daniela answered, “Yes, but don’t move. And refuse the payment.”
