Chapter 1769:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Hamilton’s hands trembled uncontrollably as the medics wheeled Daniela into the emergency room.
“This is Josh’s doing,” he muttered, his voice raw with fury. “It has to be him!”
A doctor strode over, face drawn and serious. “We’ve found evidence of poisoning.”
The words ignited Hamilton’s rage. He stormed out of the hospital, barely able to contain himself.
Within the hour, he’d assembled more than a thousand people and launched an all-out search of Daniela’s villa.
Carol sat by Daniela’s bedside, recounting the chaos. “They even yanked out the giant tree at the gate and tore apart every inch of the lawn. Inside the house—God, it was a war zone. If Nikolas hadn’t stopped him, I swear Hamilton would’ve torn up the floorboards himself. When they found the bug planted under the table, Hamilton nearly burst a blood vessel. His face turned the color of a tomato—he was livid. He swore he’d kill Josh, then stormed off.”
Daniela blinked and looked to Cedric. “He’s no match for Josh. You should go help him.”
Cedric shook his head. “No chance.”
He just couldn’t leave Daniela alone.
Daniela urged, “Go. Josh thinks he’s already won—he wouldn’t come here. And if you leave, it’ll look even more convincing, right? Everyone will believe I was poisoned.”
Cedric pressed his lips together, uncertainty flickering across his face. After a moment’s hesitation, he gave a reluctant nod.
Meanwhile, Hamilton burst into Josh’s house, fist clenched around a knife. Josh reclined on the sofa with his legs casually propped up, a look of lazy amusement on his face as he watched the morning news.
The broadcast had Daniela’s poisoning splashed across the headlines. No photos, no video, but the anchor painted a vivid picture.

“Daniela Harper—the founder of Elite Lux—was carried out of her home early this morning. Insiders report she suffered severe poisoning, and doctors insist she remain under observation. Cedric Phillips is said to be in total distress, and Phillips Group’s stock price has already plummeted five percent.”
As Hamilton burst in, the news anchor was rattling off stock updates for Phillips Group.
Josh glanced over, mouth curling into a mocking grin. “Well, well—look who’s…”
He knew Hamilton better than anyone.
For all his theatrics, Hamilton always put family first. He was all bark, no bite; no matter how desperate he seemed, he would never cross the line. The knife, the threat—none of it fazed Josh.
He lounged back, tossing Hamilton a sideways glance brimming with smugness, arrogance dripping from every inch of him.
“Josh!” Rage shook Hamilton’s entire body. “Did you even bother watching the news? Or did you lose your conscience along the way? Daniela’s pregnant—she’s almost due! How could you stoop so low and poison her?”
