Chapter 1770:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Josh feigned innocence, his lips curling. “What? You saw me do it? Got any proof?”
Hamilton’s fury was volcanic, turning his cheeks scarlet. “You want proof? Don’t play dumb! Who else could it be? Daniela and Cedric haven’t offended a soul since they arrived in Oiscoll—except you! You’ve been circling McCoy Group’s assets like a vulture for years, desperate to get your hands on them. If you really had any guts, you’d fight for them out in the open! Poisoning a pregnant woman—how low can you go?”
Josh’s gaze turned icy as he looked up, his voice flat. “If I could win it in the open, I wouldn’t have to resort to any of this. But Daniela took what was supposed to be mine.”
“Yours?” Hamilton’s voice cracked under the strain. “Was it yours? When have you ever actually run McCoy Group? Closed even a single deal by yourself?”
Josh’s expression grew stormy as he retorted, “That fortune was built by our father. If it ever came down to picking an heir, you know as well as I do—he’d choose me every time. Don’t pretend you don’t know it.”
The truth of their father’s bias hung in the air like a blade.
“But if he found out you were the one who brought the whole family down, do you really think you’d still be his favorite?” Hamilton shot back, voice low and hard.
Josh glared, jaw clenched tight, refusing to flinch.
Hamilton didn’t let up. “You want to talk about Dad? Then let’s talk. If he hadn’t tried to have Daniela’s mother killed, none of this mess would’ve happened.”
The words echoed, dragging out the McCoy family’s ugliest secret.
Hamilton had swallowed his resentment for years, but tonight, he couldn’t keep it buried any longer. “In the old days, our father lost to Daniela’s mother—and now, you can’t beat Daniela either!”
Josh’s lips curled, desperate for a comeback, but the words caught in his throat. Hamilton wasn’t lying—he knew it too well.

“So what? No matter how unstoppable they seemed, it was still us who took them down in the end. World dominator, legendary mercenary—Daniela’s just a woman, isn’t she? And women, in the end, always have something to lose. So look at her now—she still wound up poisoned, didn’t she?”
Josh leaned in, his voice low and eerily calm. “Just think, Hamilton. Isn’t this better for everyone? If Daniela dies with her children, at least those kids won’t have to struggle through a miserable life like she did. Isn’t that merciful? I poisoned Daniela to erase her bloodline. Otherwise, if her brats grow up feral and come after the McCoys, we’d never know a moment’s peace.”
Josh’s words dripped with self-righteous fury.
Hamilton’s jaw clenched as he stared him down, the weight of everything finally snapping his restraint. He lunged, knife flashing.
Josh had never believed Hamilton would actually go through with it—until the blade sliced across his arm, drawing a quick, bright line of blood.
With a shocked curse, Josh scrambled back and snatched up a fruit knife from the table. Hamilton charged again, reckless with rage, but Josh was quicker this time—a glint of steel already pressed against Hamilton’s throat.
“Drop the knife, Hamilton,” Josh hissed, voice cold and wild. “One more step, and I’ll send you straight to hell.”
