Chapter 725:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
The freezing mist of Lake Geneva swallowed me as I walked down the private dock. I kept Beatrice’s arrogant, rigid posture until my high heels stepped onto the anti-slip deck of the tactical stealth speedboat.
The second we slipped out of sight into the thick gray fog, my impenetrable facade violently crumbled.
I collapsed into the black leather passenger seat. Cold sweat soaked my spine, and my hands shook so violently I nearly dropped the metal box. The adrenaline crash, combined with the heavy nausea of my pregnancy, left me gasping for freezing air.
Alistair gunned the engine, the boat gliding like a ghost over the black water. He glanced back at me, his Vanguard eyes wide with absolute, unadulterated reverence.

“You bled that psycho dry without shedding a single drop of blood, Luna,” Alistair murmured, completely awestruck by the psychological warfare he had just witnessed.
I forced my trembling fingers to pull out the encrypted communicator and quickly typed a message to Azalea: Target acquired. Prep medical docking.
“I tapped his local comms before we left the dock,” Alistair said, tapping a button on his glowing dashboard console.
Static hissed through the boat’s speakers, followed by the sound of Silas taking a deep, greedy breath, inhaling the lingering, synthetic pheromones of Beatrice’s perfume I had deliberately left behind.
“Command to Level 3,” Silas’s voice crackled, puffed up with a sick, newfound arrogance. “Pull all heavy guards from the main evacuation routes immediately. Prepare for a highly classified breach op.”
“Sir?” his deputy’s tense voice replied. “That will severely weaken the black site’s main flank. Are you sure—”
“Do as I say, or I’ll skin your wolf alive!” Silas roared, desperate to clear the path for his imaginary queen’s grand plan.
I stared at the radio, my breath catching in my throat.
Level 3. That was the exact subterranean flank of the Syndicate black site Dallas was currently assaulting. In his pathetic delusion to impress Beatrice, Silas had just ordered his heavy suppression fire to abandon their posts. He had unknowingly cleared a path for the Alpha King.
I clutched the override drive to my chest as the speedboat tore toward the hidden water locks of Geneva’s old town, carrying the cure for my husband’s failing spine.
Adella’s POV
The stealth speedboat glided silently through the hidden water lock in Geneva’s old town. The stone walls dripped with green moss and dirty water, the damp rot a stark contrast to the sterile, freezing air of the makeshift medical and supply room we entered minutes later.
Under the harsh fluorescent lights, Alistair’s hands shook violently as he peeled the final layers of medical-grade silicone from my cheekbones. The adrenaline of our treasonous mission was crashing, leaving behind the suffocating dread of the Alpha King’s wrath.
“He’s going to kill me, Luna,” Alistair breathed, his scarred face pale. “When Dallas finds out I broke Vanguard protocol to let you face Silas Thorne… his Alpha’s Command will tear my mind apart.”
I didn’t let him spiral. I stepped forward, gripping his broad shoulders tightly.
