Chapter 729:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
I didn’t shrink under her rage. I marched straight up to her, meeting her golden eyes with glacial calm. “If I weren’t here, Azalea, Dallas would have died last night. He was drowning in a PTSD loop from the silver. I used psychological anchoring to force him into a deep sleep.”
Azalea stared at me. Her aggressive, frantic posture eased as she recognized the absolute, unyielding resilience in my stance. The aristocratic heiress processed the tactical reality in a fraction of a second, her hostility melting into profound respect.
I gestured for her and Henri to follow me toward a stack of green military ammo crates, out of earshot of the guards.
“How bad is it?” Azalea whispered.
I looked at Healer Henri, carefully guarding my deepest secret. “He took a silver blade to the ribs. I sutured it, but he needs rest.” I deliberately hid the terrifying truth, that the silver toxin was actively devouring his nervous system, and that I had the stolen override drive hidden in our room.
Azalea exhaled a shaky breath. “I hijacked the Royal Pack’s private jet to get Henri here. I completely blinded Gigi and the High Council’s spies in New York.”
Vance and Alistair exchanged a stunned look from the perimeter. They couldn’t believe I had just tamed the explosive young she-wolf with nothing but words. An unspoken, unbreakable alliance had just been forged in the shadows of the garage.
But the relief was short-lived. Azalea unrolled a digital tactical map on the nearest crate.
“Gideon’s inner circle tracked our anomalous flight path,” she said, her tone turning ice-cold. “The Syndicate is mobilizing. They are sweeping the industrial district.”
Healer Henri adjusted his medical bag, his expression grim. “The procedure will take hours, Luna. The Alpha will be in a medically induced, defenseless state. Any interruption will be fatal.”

Azalea looked at me, the Sterling apex predator fully awakened in her eyes. “We don’t have the political leverage or the firepower to hold this transit hub against a full Syndicate siege. If they find this garage, they’ll level it with bunker-busters.”
She tapped a location on the map, her voice dropping to a lethal whisper. “We need a decoy operation. While Henri operates, we have to deliberately expose ourselves. We draw Gideon’s assassins out into a chase and keep their eyes as far away from my father as possible.”
I stared at the map, my mind racing to calculate the deadly odds. Before I could agree, Vance’s tactical tablet suddenly chimed with a high-pitched, urgent alert.
Adella’s POV
The high-pitched, urgent alert from Gamma Vance Decker’s tactical tablet shattered the tense silence of the underground garage.
Vance stared at the glowing screen, his face draining of color. “Local human tactical police. Heavily armed,” he gritted out, his jaw tight. “The Syndicate bought them off. They’re moving in under the guise of a gang violence raid. Three minutes out.”
Vance looked toward the heavy blast doors leading to the inner sanctuary. Dallas had ordered absolute silence before he succumbed to the silver-toxin coma. To report this breach meant breaking the King’s final command. I didn’t let him agonize over the protocol. I met his gaze and gave a sharp, definitive nod. My Luna Regent authority instantly overrode the lockdown.
