Chapter 741:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
The red warning lights on the concrete pad died, replaced by a welcoming row of bright green.
The helicopter touched down. I watched in absolute, paralyzing horror as trauma surgeons rushed out, loading Gideon onto a stretcher. They pushed him straight into the dedicated sterile elevator. The heavy steel doors slid shut, taking the apex predator deep into the underground bunker.
They thought they were saving a dying victim. They had no idea they had just delivered a monster directly to my defenseless, sleeping husband.
Adella’s POV
The heavy rain battered the roof of the armored SUV, but the freezing downpour was nothing compared to the ice flooding my veins. On Alistair’s tactical tablet, the hacked security feed showed the Vanguard Medical Wing’s trauma bay in stark, sterile clarity.
Gideon lay on the surgical table, his pristine shirt drenched in blood. Royal Pack Luna Cecelia was sobbing hysterically, clinging to the arm of Professor Beatrice Vance as trauma surgeons swarmed the room. But Beatrice didn’t offer a single word of comfort. Her rigid posture radiated a cold, calculating intent. She tapped the main console, zooming the camera directly onto Gideon’s face.
My breath hitched. Even through the pixelated screen, I saw it.
His facial muscles were completely relaxed. There was no agonizing tension of a dying man, only the faint, sadistic ghost of a smirk playing on his lips.
Beatrice saw it too. She instantly recognized the explosive terrorist attack as a brilliant, twisted Trojan horse. But Beatrice was a core member of the Syndicate. As the High Council’s Medical Director, she used her federal jurisdiction to bypass the neutral facility’s internal security. She coldly shoved the weeping Cecelia aside and marched straight to the main security console.
She leaned into the biometric scanner, her iris flashing under the blue laser, and rapidly punched in a twelve-digit master code.
LEVEL ONE OVERRIDE flashed in blood-red across the screen.

I watched in absolute horror as three massive titanium blast doors slammed down, permanently sealing the deep-sleep medical sector where Dallas lay defenseless. A second later, the tablet went black. The signal was severed.
A suffocating silence filled the SUV. Alistair let out a low, anxious breath, his hands gripping the steering wheel frantically against the sudden blackout. “We’re locked out, Luna. Going in now is a suicide mission.”
My hands shook violently. The phantom weight of Gideon’s past psychological torture threatened to crush my chest, making it hard to breathe. But the image of Dallas trapped in that subterranean tomb, and the thought of little Arthur waiting for us in New York, incinerated my panic.
I reached into my tactical bag and pulled out a small, sterile vial. Inside floated a custom bionic contact lens, perfectly imprinted with Professor Beatrice Vance’s exact iris data from our previous infiltration.
I forced my right eye open, ignoring the sharp, agonizing sting as I pressed the synthetic lens over my pupil. I blinked away the tears, transforming myself into the ghost in their machine.
