Chapter 1874:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Elvira stood nearby in her bridesmaid gown, a champagne flute resting in her hand. She admired Maia’s reflection in the mirror and sighed softly in appreciation. “Alice absolutely deserves her reputation as a world-famous designer. Even with a wedding dress, she captured your entire aura flawlessly. When you walk out wearing this tomorrow, half the room will be jealous of Chris.”
Maia turned slightly, her gaze following the lines of the gown in the mirror as she replied evenly, “Elvira, your injury hasn’t fully healed yet, so stay away from iced drinks.”
At that moment, the door creaked open.
Through the mirror, Maia saw Maxwell step inside.
Maxwell’s left shoulder was still secured in a discreet black sling, while his wine-red suit remained as flamboyant as ever. He strolled over lazily, swaying slightly, and naturally wrapped an arm around Elvira’s waist.
Dropping onto the sofa beside her, Maxwell nudged her shoulder lightly. “One or two drinks won’t matter,” he said before casually taking her glass and finishing it in a single gulp.
“What the hell are you doing?” Elvira snapped, staring at him in disbelief. “You’re still half-dead from your injuries, and you’re stealing my drink?”
“I’m not worried. With you taking care of me, I’ll recover twice as fast. But if you end up sick, who’s supposed to take care of me then?” Maxwell replied cheekily.
Elvira’s face instantly flushed crimson. She stomped hard on his foot before snatching the glass back. “Shut up. And if your stitches burst open later, don’t come crying to me.”

Watching the two banter so naturally, Maia couldn’t help the faint smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
These two had finally ended up together after all. Elvira always had endless things to say, and Maxwell was no different. Now the two of them could chatter nonstop for the rest of their lives.
Quietly, Maia wished them happiness.
At that moment, steady footsteps echoed from the hallway outside.
The fitting room door opened once again, and Chris stepped inside. He wore a sharply tailored black peak-lapel tuxedo with no tie, his collar left slightly open in effortless elegance.
The moment his eyes landed on Maia, his steps came to an abrupt halt. A storm instantly surged through those deep, dark eyes.
Chris held her gaze unblinkingly, his concentration so intense that the world around them faded to gray, as if, in that instant, she alone remained, glowing and utterly unforgettable.
She was his bride, the woman he loved beyond reason.
Maxwell raised a brow knowingly before quickly pulling Elvira to her feet. “Come on, let’s go downstairs and check whether the flowers for the venue have arrived. No need for us to stay here being third wheels.”
The door closed softly behind them.
The spacious fitting room immediately fell silent.
Chris slowly walked over until he stood behind Maia. Watching her reflection in the mirror, he reached out, his warm fingertips gently brushing against the exposed curve of her shoulder blade. The wound there had long since healed, leaving behind only the faintest trace. His touch was delicate and careful.
Chris leaned closer, his warm breath grazing lightly against the curve of Maia’s ear.
“It’s perfect.” He lowered his head slightly, his voice rough with emotion. “Mrs. Cooper, you look breathtaking.”
