Chapter 595:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“I’m not eavesdropping,” Ivan said quickly. “I just happened to hear it!” Then he looked at Sarah, scandalized. “Sarah, you’re so bad.”
Sarah pressed her lips together and snapped back, “But look at what Marvin’s done! Everyone thinks we’re together now. Isn’t he the bad one?”
Ivan asked hesitantly, “Then does that mean you two are a good match?”
“Well… not necessarily,” Sarah groaned.
Renee rubbed her temples. Their back-and-forth left her completely speechless.
Sarah let out a slow sigh. “I’ll talk to him soon. It’s not a good idea to keep dragging this out.”
Renee didn’t ask Sarah how she planned to navigate that awkward conversation. Still, since Sarah hadn’t stopped Marvin from pulling his little stunts, Renee figured it would probably go smoothly.
And as Sarah’s friend, Renee felt comfortable accepting Marvin’s help for Marcelo.
Taking advantage of his day off, Ivan scrolled idly through his phone.

Renee was still talking with Sarah when she suddenly noticed Ivan looking at them oddly.
“What’s wrong?” Renee asked.
“Why didn’t you tell me something happened to Marcelo?” Ivan held up his phone. “Vivian has Sebastian’s test report. Why didn’t she show it earlier?”
Vivian had released a video through a major domestic media outlet.
In it, she claimed she had been close with both Marcelo and Sebastian. In the year before Sebastian’s death, she said she had accompanied Sebastian to a psychiatrist multiple times for treatment.
“Before Seb died in the accident, he had been suffering from severe depression,” Vivian said on camera. “He had suicidal thoughts twice, but I stopped him in time. I’m heartbroken that I wasn’t there for him when the accident happened. Now that he’s gone, I’ve kept this secret for him for years. But if he were still alive, he wouldn’t want to see his brother slandered.”
She then showed an old psychological evaluation report, confirming that Sebastian had indeed suffered from depression. Severe depression often came with suicidal tendencies.
It had only been an hour since the video dropped.
Ever since Marcelo dragged Gary into the mess, everything had become tangled together. Everyone—wealthy families included—was gossiping about the King family’s internal drama.
But now, public opinion swung sharply back in Marcelo’s favor.
Renee’s expression shifted.
Something about Vivian’s timing felt wrong.
Why would she step forward now?
Sarah’s face darkened too.
She knew Vivian had feelings for Marcelo.
“Sebastian had severe depression?” Sarah asked Ivan.
“Um… I didn’t know until now,” Ivan replied, still stunned.
Although Ivan and Sebastian were cousins, the age gap between them was significant, and they rarely spoke.
Renee took a slow, steady breath.
Vivian’s revelation about Sebastian’s mental state was good news for Marcelo.
But it also put Vivian under the spotlight and earned her public sympathy.
From now on, people would inevitably link Vivian to Marcelo.
“Now that Vivian helped Marcelo clear his name, isn’t that a good thing?” Ivan turned to them, baffled. “Renee, Sarah—why do you both look upset?”
“You’re just a kid. You wouldn’t understand,” Sarah said, waving him off. It was hard to explain.
That annoyed Ivan. “I’ll understand as long as you explain it,” he shot back.
“Fine.” Sarah’s gaze sharpened. “Why do you think Vivian suddenly dropped this bombshell?”
“Because she wants to help Marcelo—” Ivan started, but his voice faltered as a thought struck him.
Vivian’s video was still playing. Her words echoed in his ears.
Sebastian’s psychiatric report could have been released in any number of ways, yet Vivian had chosen to reveal it in a video.
Ivan’s expression shifted. “She did it to make it look like she has a special relationship with Marcelo,” he said slowly. “And it makes people feel like Marcelo owes her.”
