Chapter 465:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Just then, they heard voices approaching from the corridor.
Allison frowned, quickly looked around, and pulled Kellan into the stall beside them.
“Hush. Keep quiet,” she whispered, pressing a finger to her lips.
Her voice was barely a murmur.
In the cramped space, they were uncomfortably close, but she had to endure it. After all, the last thing she wanted was to become office gossip.
The thought of tomorrow’s headlines was enough: CEO and Employee in Restroom Rendezvous.
In the confined space, they were pressed almost shoulder-to-shoulder. But when Kellan leaned in, his chest brushed against her back, radiating an unshakable intensity that made her pulse quicken.
“Ms. Clarke, are you really convinced we’re just partners?” His low voice was a mere breath against her ear, sending a chill down her spine. The heat radiating from him felt overwhelming, like he was a force of nature that could hardly be contained.
“Or do you feel something more for a ‘partner’?”
Kellan closed his eyes, fighting the urge to kiss her. His body instinctively leaned closer, his mind swirling with one single thought.
Kiss her. Just kiss her.
Perhaps it had never been the scent she wore that drew him in. Maybe, from the very beginning, it had been her—her presence—that ensnared him, driving him to obsession. A desire so deep, it bordered on something dangerous.

Allison couldn’t see his face, but she could feel the heat rising as her heart beat wildly against her chest.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Their heartbeats seemed to echo in sync, the energy thick in the air. The tension prickled across Allison’s skin, her nerves tight as a bowstring. She knew this was wrong, out of line.
Without a second thought, she jabbed her elbow backward, catching him off guard. “Kellan, you’re doing this on purpose.”
The blow connected, but he didn’t flinch. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed hard, seeming to revel in the brief sting of pain. A dull thud echoed faintly in the restroom.
Then, a voice from outside called out, “Hey, is someone there?”
“It’s me, Allison.”
Her tone was steady, giving nothing away. But in that moment, Kellan’s hands were firm around her waist, grounding her in place.
Two female coworkers, hearing her, relaxed with sighs of relief. “Oh, it’s Ms. Clarke. You missed something! I heard Mr. Lloyd’s fiancée brought him lunch herself.”
“Yeah, word is they’re getting married soon. So many hearts in the company are breaking! I mean, with a catch like that off the market.”
“I don’t think she’s as pretty as Ms. Clarke, honestly.”
“Well, gossip isn’t our business. Let’s just get back to work.”
