Chapter 474:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Damn! Why couldn’t Kellan ever hold a normal conversation? Soon enough, Kellan’s mood shadowed the entire company, leaving everyone on edge.
“I think Mr. Lloyd’s been acting… different,” whispered one employee. “He used to ignore certain things, but now he’s suddenly all strict.”
“You’re telling me? I went in to submit documents yesterday, and it felt like standing next to a freezer!” murmured another.
“Yeah, he’s definitely in a bad mood lately.”
Allison overheard the murmurings, but she kept her head down, steadily focusing on her perfume development. This project was something she needed to complete before leaving Ontdale.
Compared to Kellan, Allison’s mood was calm. In the past few days, she’d received good news from Gordon. For instance, her mother’s whereabouts had surfaced in Vrining, and, thankfully, it seemed she wasn’t connected to the human experimentation lab—meaning her mother was alive.
Better yet, the owner of the earring might know her mother.
Lost in thought, Allison was brought back to the present when Aimee handed her a list of perfume ingredients. “Ms. Clarke, here’s what you requested.”
Since Allison had cleaned up the cliques within the company, Aimee had been promoted. Now, she stood beside Allison like a trusted right hand, shyly offering a soft smile.
“Oh, and I brought you a burger. If you’re hungry later, feel free to have it.”
Aimee’s voice was soft yet steady, though a shy smile lingered on her face.

“Thank you,” Allison said, carefully stowing the burger. She smiled, patting Aimee’s shoulder. “You’re really coming into your own. Pretty soon, I can leave my tasks in your capable hands.”
Aimee blushed, touched by the words.
“It’s all thanks to you,” she replied.
If it hadn’t been for Allison, who had stood by her when she was slandered by office cliques, she might have fallen into despair.
Now, she felt reborn.
However, Allison’s last words stirred unease within her. Entrusting tasks to her hinted at Allison’s departure.
No, it couldn’t be.
Aimee clenched her fists at the thought.
But when she looked up again, she saw Allison walking away, documents in hand.
“I’m probably just overthinking,” Aimee muttered to herself, watching her leave.
But she wasn’t the only one uneasy — she suspected even Kellan would hate to see Allison go.
Meanwhile, Allison, unaware of Aimee’s concerns, headed off to the marketing department with her documents.
When the elevator doors opened with a soft chime, she stepped forward, not noticing someone in her path until she bumped into him.
