Chapter 735:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
The others hesitated at the door, unsure whether to approach after seeing the scene. From where they stood, it looked like Verruckt was shirtless and standing too close to Alice, making it seem as if they were more than just colleagues.
Allison caught the look in their eyes. She quickly stood up and clarified, “Mr. Shaw was hurt. I just helped him with his wound.”
Once she said that, Allison wisely stepped back.
Jareth didn’t respond to her explanation and instead turned to Verruckt, apologizing. “Sorry, Mr. Shaw. It’s our fault for not getting here sooner and letting you get hurt.”
Verruckt stood up, and the doctors crowded around to tend to his injury. His voice was cold. “What’s the situation?”
Jareth answered respectfully. “We’ve made some deals. The police won’t be able to link us to Immortality Pharmaceuticals.”
“And the others?”
“One person from the Mafia got away.”
Jareth quickly filled Verruckt in on everything. “The people from the Sanrick District stayed on the edges. The one-eyed man Yashiro and his crew all died in the warehouse.”

Verruckt narrowed his eyes and let out a cold chuckle. “It’s all a mess,” he said. “Why did the Sanrick District even get involved?”
Jareth answered, his voice laced with guilt, “Sorry, their group sticks together tightly, so we don’t have much info. All we know is someone must’ve tipped them off about the warehouse.”
“It’s got to be someone from Immortality Pharmaceuticals,” Verruckt said thoughtfully. “They wanted these groups to wipe each other out, then take advantage of the chaos.”
Jareth sighed deeply. “Unfortunately, only Yashiro’s group got wiped out tonight. The Mafia always has backup.”
But Verruckt wasn’t concerned about the fate of those men.
Verruckt recalled the figure he had seen before losing consciousness and asked sharply, “Is there any surveillance where I faced the Mafia?”
“There is,” Jareth replied, “but it looks like a hacker got in. The first part is still there, but the last part was deleted manually.” Jareth was also confused. The footage had clearly shown their boss badly injured, so the deleted part must’ve held something important.
As expected, Verruckt’s face turned icy when he heard this.
“Bunch of fools!”
The temperature around him seemed to drop.
Even the doctors hesitated, their hands frozen mid-air, an unspoken testament to the gravity of the wound’s severity.
