Chapter 838:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Verruckt reached out and pressed a small, raised spot on the wall. “It’s behind this,” he said. The wall slid back smoothly into a square shape, then swung open like a door.
“Watch carefully. You’re the first to use the VIP passage.” Verruckt’s voice was soft, almost a whisper in her ear, carrying a relaxed, raspy tone.
As they entered, they were close to each other.
Allison blinked in surprise. “I… I’ve never seen anything like this…”
She looked completely stunned. Her wide-eyed expression made Verruckt grin.
“You’ll see more of it in the future,” he assured her.
The area behind the wall was only about four square meters, with a button on the left side. Verruckt gently took her hand and pressed her finger to the button.
“This is the elevator to the first floor,” he said, his breath warm against her ear.
When their fingers brushed, Allison could feel the heat of his skin, like it was burning, almost molten.
As the space began to rise, the distance to the first floor seemed to vanish. The elevator door slid open slowly.

Allison stood frozen for a moment, realizing that they had entered a hidden chamber with a one-way glass corridor. That meant when she first came here and went through the security check, the person watching her had been Verruckt all along.
His red eyes made her feel a deep, unsettling sense of danger.
Next to the elevator door was a hidden password door, built right into the wall. Verruckt stood beside her and said, “This is the escape passage. Only I know the password.”
Allison shrugged and replied, “Oh, I don’t need to know the password. I’ll be dead soon enough anyway.” Her voice was steady, but Verruckt could sense the lingering anger in her words.
“001001. That’s the password,” he said without hesitation. Verruckt guided her toward the password door.
“Alice, if that day ever comes, I’ll give you a chance to escape,” he said, his tone serious. He met her gaze, his dark red eyes piercing, like a predator sizing up its prey.
“But if I catch you,” he added, “you’ll never get another shot.”
Verruckt was no saint. His gut reaction was always to dominate and wreak havoc. Yet, around Allison, he displayed an unusual and significant level of self-control. He knew all too well that for a creature as wild and ferocious as himself, letting someone slip away would only stoke his burning desire to dominate. At this point, not even Verruckt could predict his own actions.
